I noticed this with the last squad but it's good to see the 18s squad being used to get a look at players who've been having impressive U18 league seasons. O'Hanlon, Miller, Palmer, Barker, Rittenberg and Kent all fall into that bracket. Surprised there's not a place for the other Blackburn striker Jordan Preston, he's been in excellent form.
Same with Emmanuel Sonupe, who perhaps been Spurs' best player at academy level this season. Listed as a defender above, and he did play as a right full back last time he was called up, if I'm not mistaken, now a days he's a right winger at club level. A good age group for us at Spurs, would have liked to see Nathan Oduwa involved as well.
United's best players at the U18 level this season all seem late 95's. Mathew Willock probably the only one i can think of who can be contention for this with the 96 cut off.
Oh yeah. ES played on the right wing in his outing in the VS. Saw very little of the ball and seemed like a fish out of water - all perhaps a bit much for him at the time. It was no surprise that he was weeded out of the squad. A couple of times I'd wondered what had become of him when he wasn't to be seen in the Spurs u18's.
I got a good look at Sonupe at the Spurs/Chelsea 18s game a few weeks back; not to take a performance in isolation and claim it to be representative of everything but he was on the right wing and I wasn't impressed really. Straight line runner who preferred to knock it into space and try to use his speed, and invariably lost out every time against a guy playing out of position. Guess it was a bad day for him.
Nice piece here on Brandon Barker and his season so far and England youth ambitions. http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Academy-news/2013/November/England-calling-for-Brandon-Barker
Expect a few changes to this squad, Chelsea said that only Charlie Colkett and George Brady are going, so I guess Palmer and Kiwomya withdrew for club commitments.

Bryn Morris, there's a name that seems to have disappeared. Always rated him though, how's he doing anyone who's being following his development?
