I noticed this with the last squad but it's good to see the 18s squad being used to get a look at players who've been having impressive U18 league seasons. O'Hanlon, Miller, Palmer, Barker, Rittenberg and Kent all fall into that bracket.

Surprised there's not a place for the other Blackburn striker Jordan Preston, he's been in excellent form.

Same with Emmanuel Sonupe, who perhaps been Spurs' best player at academy level this season.
Listed as a defender above, and he did play as a right full back last time he was called up, if I'm not mistaken, now a days he's a right winger at club level.
A good age group for us at Spurs, would have liked to see Nathan Oduwa involved as well.

United's best players at the U18 level this season all seem late 95's.

Mathew Willock probably the only one i can think of who can be contention for this with the 96 cut off.

Oh yeah. ES played on the right wing in his outing in the VS. Saw very little of the ball and seemed like a fish out of water - all perhaps a bit much for him at the time. It was no surprise that he was weeded out of the squad. A couple of times I'd wondered what had become of him when he wasn't to be seen in the Spurs u18's.

I got a good look at Sonupe at the Spurs/Chelsea 18s game a few weeks back; not to take a performance in isolation and claim it to be representative of everything but he was on the right wing and I wasn't impressed really. Straight line runner who preferred to knock it into space and try to use his speed, and invariably lost out every time against a guy playing out of position. Guess it was a bad day for him.

Expect a few changes to this squad, Chelsea said that only Charlie Colkett and George Brady are going, so I guess Palmer and Kiwomya withdrew for club commitments.

England U18s will meet again at St. George’s Park in January for a training camp ahead of the second half of the season.

Head Coach Neil Dewsnip has picked a group of 22 players for the three day camp, following on from two similar meet-ups earlier this year.

There are several new faces in the group for Dewsnip to work with too, as Portsmouth defender Jack Whatmough, Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan, Hartlepool midfielder Bradley Walker, Bolton striker Tom Walker and Peterborough United duo Tom Conlon and Jermaine Anderson are all called up.

    England U18s 4-0 Hungary U18s

Dewsnip, who will be joined by assistant Noel Blake and goalkeeping coach Tim Dittmar, will meet his squad at SGP on Sunday 5 January and work with them on the training pitch until Tuesday 7 January when the players return to their respective clubs.

The Young Lions played two games against Hungary behind-closed-doors earlier this year, winning 4-0 in their second game.

With no competitive fixtures for the U18s age group set by UEFA or FIFA, these camps offer an opportunity for the coaches to work with their players ahead of next season’s U19s schedule.

    The Squad

    Callum Burton (Shrewsbury Town)
    Ted Smith (Southend United).

    Kyle Knoyle (West Ham United)
    Reece Burke (West Ham United)
    Max Clarke (Hull City)
    Ben O’Hanlon (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
    Ben Wyatt (Norwich City)
    Brendan Galloway (MK Dons)
    Jack Whatmough (Portsmouth)

    Bryn Morris (Middlesborough)
    Reece Brown (Birmingham City)
    Bradley Walker (Hartlepool United)
    Cameron Brannagan (Liverpool)
    Dele Alli (MK Dons)
    Tom Conlon (Peterborough United)

    Tom Walker (Bolton Wanderers)
    Dean Rittenberg (Blackburn Rovers)
    Jerome Sinclair (Liverpool)
    Bradley Fewster (Middlesbrough)
    Demari Gray (Birmingham City)
    Jermaine Anderson (Peterborough United)
    Ryan Kent (Liverpool)

England U18s squad named for Belgium game at SGP

The line-up to face Hungary last October
    Listen
England U18s are back in action later this month when they host Belgium at St. George’s Park in their first international fixture of the year.

Head Coach Neil Dewsnip has selected a 16-man squad for the game, although the group has been restricted, with many players still involved in The FA Youth Cup with their clubs.

Dewsnip has named a 16-man squad for the game.

This has seen the likes of Liverpool’s Cameron Brannagan and Ryan Kent and Chelsea duo Alex Kiwomya and Kasey Palmer withdrawn due to their involvement in Fifth Round fixtures.

But that provides opportunities to others to impress and there is a first call-up for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

The squad will meet up at St. George’s Park on Saturday 15 February for training, before they face the Belgians three days later on Tuesday 18 February.

Dewsnip will be assisted by coach Noel Blake and goalkeeping coach Tim Dittmer for the meet-up, which follows on from a three-day training camp at St. George's for the U18s in January.

England U18s were last in action in October, when they faced a double-header with Hungary at the national football centre, with the second game ending in a 4-0 win.

Highlights of the game with Hungary last October.

With no official UEFA or FIFA fixtures scheduled at U18 level, the training and games provide those players with international football inbetween the competitive year groups at U17 and U19 level.

    The Squad

Goalkeepers: Ted Smith (Southend United), Callum Burton (Shrewsbury Town).

Defenders: Kyle Knoyle (West Ham United), Reece Burke (West Ham United), Brendan Galloway (MK Dons), Ashley Smith-Brown (Manchester City), Ben Chilwell (Leicester City).

Midfielders: Bryn Morris (Middlesbrough), William Miller (Tottenham Hotspur), Reece Brown (Birmingham City), Harry Winks (Tottenham Hotspur).

Forwards: Brandon Barker (Manchester City), Dean Rittenberg (Blackburn Rovers), George Green (Everton), Emmanuel Sonupe (Tottenham Hotspur), Bradley Fewster (Middlesbrough).

The game with Belgium is to be played behind closed doors for invited guests only.

Bryn Morris, there's a name that seems to have disappeared. Always rated him though, how's he doing anyone who's being following his development?
