Maddox was close to involvement for our U18s in midweek, he was with the squad in the warm-up presumably as someone was a doubt, but ultimately wasn't needed even as a sub. Dasilva (this is the correct way of spelling his name, I'm assured) has played left wing for the last 4-5 games and been our best player by a long margin. He's incredibly good.
Nice. From arsenal I'd expect Nelson, Gilmour and (joe) willock to be players to look out for. Gilmour played up an age in the last victory shield for Scotland but a good chance he could turn out for England. Brady called him one for the future and said "quote me on that"
I didn't rate either from early on. It was odd how highly rated they were at u17 level and beyond. Wenger stuck by Randall for quite some time before giving up on him.
Yep, Trev played 45 at right-back and was excellent, and 45 at left-back and was good. A third U15, Iké Ugbo, got his first start after two sub appearances and scored his first goal.
I personally liked the look of Lansbury but he got glandular fever when he was around 17 and missed most of the 2007-08 season because of it, and when he came back he never looked quiet the same player IMO.
Montaigu starts tomorrow for England; not sure Jay Dasilva is in the squad now because of the FA Youth Cup (he played 30 mins of the first leg vs Arsenal) and the fact he played for our Under-18s at the weekend whilst Wakefield and Maddox were already with the squad in France. We'll see soon enough.
I hadn't realised it was upon us. I see one of the twins, Cole Dasilva, came on as sub for Chelsea at the week end.
Odd that Cole has opted to represent Wales when Jay represents England? It's quite bemusing why we don't a structured Under-15 programme, the other home nations make us look like idiots.
Looks like Nathan Holland has replaced Marcus Edwards in the squad. England U16 2-0 Saudi Arabia Montaigu Tournament Mareuil Sur Lay, France Tuesday, 15 February Saudi Arabia opened the scoring on 19 minutes and seven minutes later they had doubled their lead. Swain tried to turn the tide by making three changes at half-time, and a further two on 63 minutes, but the second half ended goalless.
