Belgium's senior side are overrated and that's probably led most people to overrate their youth sides too.
I wouldn't say people ovverrate their senior side, they just think they'll be great in the next 5 years. Kompany still going, Hazard, Lukaku, Benteke, Bakkali, Henen, Courtios, Praet, that 17 year old holding player whos name i can never remember and Boasserts at City. They have a lot of top young talents. Then again so do we.
A lot of people overrate their senior side. I always see things saying that they are in the top group of favourites along with Brazil ect, above England. And yeah they do have a lot of top young talents.
Lol , who overrates this team ? Belgium really has it all , top goalies (actually two ) great defenders , excellent midfielders , scary forwards...no need to say names or give numbers but that team is strong for real . Anyway , talking about the match England won thanks to Hinds and Hector-Ingram being more clinical than their belgian counterparts , both team were very good at attacking , bad (Belgium very bad) at defending (at 1:25 what was Ro-Shaun Williams trying to do ? ). Outplayed by Spain , dominate Denmark , deservedly won against Belgium , Swain can be satisfied with this tournament but what is really positive is the high technical abilities of this age group and Marcus Edwards is special .
At this level (and u17s) the defenders are too airy-fairy. They seem surprised when a flank player cuts inside to shoot - like Williams for the first Belgium goal.
BREAKING! Karl Robinson has named 15-year-old @DannyCollinge in the squad for tomorrow's game against @SUFC_tweets.
After three or four sub appearances, Charlie Wakefield got a first U18 start for Chelsea today. He played really well, has come along a ton this season.
Dearnley,Ro-shaun Williams and Tosin Kehinde were on the bench for United U18s today against Liverpool with Ryan Kent came back from injury (Rashford and uncapped Tuanzebe started). Williams and Kehinde came on in the second half. Not sure about the England eligibility of Kehinde as mentioned. Gribbin might possibly make the bench but got injured.
I see Trevoh Chalobah got half an hour as well. (And Patrick Roberts scored one of the Fulham goals. Seemingly a typical run and smart finish.)
Yeah Trev played 30 minutes at right-back (he's very versatile, I've seen or have seen reference to him in every outfield position) and did pretty well too, especially considering his immediate opponent was George Williams, who spent the week training with Wales U21s I think. He's a 99 so is still 14 and I guess eligible for England 16s next season.
U16s drawn in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Portugal for the Montaigu Tournament 2014
Williams got his first start for United U18s against Newcastle (he's a late 98'). Rashford and Tuanzebe (a late 97') also start.
It is never too soon to know the next crop so here is a game between Chelsea 99' and Olympique Marseille in some Russian tournament last October. Dan Kemp is number 27 , Mason Mount 26 , Trevor Chalobah 4 and the excellent 25 is Scotland U15 Luke Mc Cormick . Chelsea players are so small and tiny comparing to the french ones , specially Kemp who btw didn't had a great game but at minute 29:00 shows what is able to do...a great movement.
Some good talents in this video as expected from Chelsea While we're here this is Angel Gomes (born in August 2000, went to England U15s training camp this year) short cameo with United U17s in Slovakia. Some good through balls from him and Dearnley (no.16) should scored 4 not 2 in another day.
