The St-Etienne 2006-07 season thread Looking forward to this season, though it should be better than the slow burn of last year, where expectations were peaked due to the performance of 2 years ago. Anyway, ASSE should be in the thick of things contending for a much needed spot in European competitions. A CL spot may be a bit too much to ask from Hasek, but a UEFA spot should be the goal. I think that the additions of Ilan, the soon to arrive Marek Heinze (is it the Jan. transfer window?) and the very promising Fredy Guarin will certainly help. Looking forward to following the exploits of Les Verts throughout the season.

Go look up the facts. The only way you'd get a chance to be bigger or equal than St. Etienne is if your 50,000 seat stadium ever gets built.

The St-Etienne 2006-07 season thread They're bigger club than you now and throughout history but you have a greater potential for growth than they do because Lille is a larger city than St. Etienne and their fanbase is tapped out and yours can only keep growing and plus I think your new stadium will be bigger than there new one if there even is one coming up.

Olympique Lillois was on of the great teams of the first part of the 20th century. we also owe them a debt of gratitude as being the godfather club to OL. our name and our kit come from them.
