This was quite possibly the dumbest idea the CFA has had, at least in having the CSL coaches attend, a number of them have more experience and more success than Camacho.

well not a good start to the coming CNY, this fiasco and the animosity between hongkongers and mainlanders rearing its ugly head again. Here's hoping guozu will have a more auspicious beginning.

This roster....ah, I don't know what to say, this roster shows how stupid the Camacho tenure is, now he's doing what Gao was doing and just throwing darts at a board, hoping some will stick, its disgusting...

    some tidbits:

the news mentioned that camacho has broke a record, the record of "getting most players from a single club" (camacho got 8 players from guangzhou evergrande).

lee jang-soo, the guangzhou evergrande coach, is not happy because this impact the trainings and preparation for the asian champions league.

guangzhou evergrande and cfa have made several arrangements, one of them is "the evergrande players will only play for half-match against kuwait". evergrande also gave part of their training ground and 7-star hotel (evergrande has a hotel business in guangzhou) for CFA to use. it was reported that camacho thinks the training ground quality sucks.

Team China has integrated some sort of new training today called the YOYO training. I don't know what it is, but it is Camacho approved. The news said the training is to increase the physical-ness of our players.

So the training started, and the whole team die. Only Zhang Linpeng and Jin Jingdao passed the training

For some reason, given our "90 minute effort" (or lack thereof), I'm not too surprised by that news.

Evergrande players have also been promised 2 additional days of vacation from training...

This is nothing new, it's a quasi-scientific Chinese designed training style that has been around for many years and used to be a phsyical test for CSL players before the start of the season.

It's basically an endurance test, this is a decent explanation of it:
    http://www.topendsports.com/testing/tests/yo-yo-intermittent.htm

though when the CSL was doing it, it also included a number of other conditioning tests that, for whatever reason, the players were never capable of passing.

I wonder how advanced are Chinese football training methods?
1, Do they use Pro zone?
2, What skill based training do they do, if any?
3, I hear AC Milan have personal trainers for each of their older players, does that happen in Chinese football?
4, I know in the EPL all players go through Body Fat Index measurements and I've heard some stories that players have gone through injection therapy, which isn't illegal but still questionable, heck I've even heard some athletes go through a muscle biopsy to see the potential on how big their muscle can grow. I wanna know if Chinese footballers go to these extremes or is my perception that their training methods are still archaic and they're praying that they're faster and stronger then their opposition?

    1. No
    2. I've seen a lot of teams skills based training, but only in season training sessions.
    3. Hell no.
    4. Body fat tests are definitely administered and you'll see tons of supplements/enhancements around, perhaps not all being legal, but there definitely isn't the intense testing that you are talking about, at least not at the club level.

Thanks for the info I guess my perception that these guys were still throwing medicine balls from the 1950's turned out to be wrong.

Having said that this yoyo method of training has been around for years and every team in Europe has been using it, especially during pre-season. It is kinda frightening to think that this training method is considered new and how far China is with their football.
