Las 'gallinas' son así, los más amargos de la Argentina.... cuando no salen campeón... esas FOROS están vacías. Yo soy de Boca señor, cantemos todos con alegría, aunque no salga campeón, el sentimiento no se termina. GALLINAS
Les rompimos el culo!!!! This is the most enjoyable match I've seen in a very long time. yeah, when we beat Brazil at the olympics, maybe, but this is even better. With ten men, and we kicked their sad gayina ass! Viatri is the man! Roman is the legend! Grande Boca!!!!! At my house we are watching it again, so we can drink some more beer! ********ing Awesome!
Just finished watching it on FSC and what a great result. Boca seemed more like the home team with all the possession and River playing on the counter attack. That said in the first half they looked the more likely to score in my opinion. And being sent off for what looked like mimicking the refs assistant seems a bit over the top but whatever as it seemed to spur the team on then and in the end Boca could have won by more.
Very gutty performance by Boca. For being 1 man up, River looked pretty bad. There was so much space on the right side of Boca after Ibarra left but River never took the initiative on a consistent basis. Hell of a header by Viatri to snag the 3 points. Roman played okay...was so close to scoring twice.
Here is my evaluations of the players: Garcia 5: Not a convincing performance. He gave up some long rebounds, and on a relatively easy long distance shot he lost the ball and it hit the post, which nearly gave me a heart attack. He was solid on crosses, though. Ibarra 6: One of our best players in the first half, always showing himself, becoming an outlet, and taking the play to an attacking position. Then he said something stupid and got the red card, so he loses some points for that. Fortunately it didn't hurt us, but it's a damn shame, because the team is better when he's on the field. Caceres 6: Had some early trouble with Falcao, but then he settled down and was solid. Nice to hear him apologize, and hopefully now he'll concentrate on his game. Paletta 7: One of his better games, on the air and on the ground. He rose up to the ocassion, and hopefully it will give him confidence to continue playing well. Morel Rodriguez 7: He worked very hard and after some early jitters he defended well, but going on the attack he was not as effective. Battaglia 8: One of the stars of the game. He was important in shutting out River, anticipating the ball, and also making good passes. Perhaps a bit dirty at times, but he intimidated and eliminated Buonanotte. Datolo 7: He worked very hard pressuring River when they had the ball, and although he did not create too much danger he did keep the defenders busy. Gaitan 6: The kid didn't look out of place in the superclasico. He shows a lot of confidence, but sometimes he tries to make the fancy play too much and it leads to loss of possesion. He needs to learn when to make fancy plays and when to make the easy passes. Riquelme 9: He was ok in the first half, but after Ibarra's red he took the team on his shoulders and led them to a win. Excellent ball that led to the goal, and then he drove River's players crazy, and he almost had an olympic goal. His second half performance makes him the man of the match. Viatri 8: Didn't join the play much, but when he did, he won the game. The way he beat two defenders and headed the ball on the goal was a thing of beauty. He looks more and more each day like a young Palermo. Subs: Calvo 7: He came in after the goal and without featuring a lot he was solid and helped defensively to keep River from being able to react. Noir 6: Brought fresh legs and he always gives me the feeling that with his speed he's going to score. He didn't, but helped keep River's defense honest. Chavez 6: Came in late and helped in midfield.
Before I forget, congratz to all the Boca mothers ... and since yesterday, to all dads too. Will be a celebration every year from now on. Super busy and tired atm ... just sharing what it means to beat this "muertos" with 10 and make them last in the table. And special thanx to Aguilar for wanting to extend that clown's contract. What will el burrito be thinking tonite? .
Listen to this commentary about the match, by Victor Hugo Morales. Particularly his comments about Riquelme. It's short, simple, and right on the money: http://www.lanacion.com.ar/nota.asp?nota_id=1061314
Great picture. Viatri now has 6 goals in 11 league matches for Boca. He's done very well replacing Palermo.
It crossed my mind at the time as it hit the back of the net that Viatri's match-winner was very Palermo-esque! A great, much-needed, well-overdue result for Boca at the Monumental.
regresa el superclasico!!! esta ves los dos clubes viven otra historia en el torneo local... predicciones? alineaciones o sorpresas?

Is FSC not going to show it live? They have it listed at 3:00 am on Monday and Tuesday, but not on Sunday.
FSC is showing the Manchester United vs Everton FA Cup Simi-final at the same time. I hope www.justin.tv has a good feed.
