Disappointing what happened with the U20's and qualifiaction en route to Colombia, but we must look ahead to what's next as far as youth teams go...

A total of 2 CONCACAF Nations will qualify to the 2012 Olympics which will be held in London, England.

I'm not sure when UNCAF/Central America qualifying begins for the Olympics this time around, looking back at the last cycle though en route to Bejing 2008, I see that the qualifiers began in late November 2007...Hopefully more details are released soon.

Regarding the bolded info, CONCACAF announced a couple weeks ago that the final round of Olympic Qualification will take place in the United States in March of 2012.

Tuco Alfaro is going to use the friendly against Mexico's U 20 on Feb 9th to start preparing for the Olympic qualifiers. He is going to call in a few U 21 players to join the U 20 squad for the game.

If I were these kids - I would just concentrate in their professional careers and stop from attending any call-ups. At this point I don't think ES is really prepare to deal/play at the international level. Not when you ahve idiots running the sport. I wouldn't blame any one player for not attending and NOT wanting to play for any National team in ES. The flourishing ineptitud in ES is just so discouraging.
Read what happened to ES National team back during the World Cup in Spain 1982, administrative problems in ES are OLD and I dont think it has changed nor will it ever change. Same old crap. Start supporting other sports and or other leagues.

The friendly match against Mexico begins in about an hour and 10 minutes from now.

I doubt there will be TV transmission and I'm just hoping one of the radios at least carries the match or at least gives updates.

No worries...even though quality isn't that good and there are no commentators...we can still keep up with updates from El Grafico...

Anyone know which players are over 20 or the ones from the U21 Alfaro said he would incorporate into this friendly?

    0-0 at the half.

GP...Cuellar, Chavarria, Moran, Bonilla, Aguila... Remember, Bonilla rejected the callup in the lead to the Juego CentroAmericano's last year...so I'm surprised he's there...but he's talented no doubt and I guess Tuco Alfaro can look past his mistakes and willing to give him another shot...

I hope to see Santamaria in there opposite him in the 2nd half...

The annonucers on Radio Monumental are gushing over Chavarria's 1st half performance.

Laaaame...because of him we should have been playing this week in the U-20 tournament and had a very hard fought match against the US in the U-17...Israel better keep him around somewhere in the staff...Alfaro was a bright spot in our developing soccer. I've heard Israel has had good success with young teams so we'll see...

I personally think, that our senior team got better since alfaro came as rugama's assitant. He was a big influence for our senior team to get refreshed. Otherwise Rugamas easily would have kept the same team DLC left. I dearly hope Tuco becomes one of Israel's assistants.

Compared to Rugamas, Tuco Alfaro is on a different level. He is more tactical, reads the game well, knows how to anticipate moves and also how to oxygenate the team during games. Alfaro is more willing to try new players and move pieces around to better fit his system. I agreed with you, when you say that the team CHANGED was Tuco came on board to help assist Rugamas. Rugamas is NOT creative, doesnt have a good/high soccer IQ. Tuco has shown time and time again that he IS a very capable coach. I also hope he is picked/chosen to be part of Israel's coaching staff.
