Remember when the the media had to pressure Herrera to call up Fabian (who was/(is) tearing it up with CA) for the US game? That right there, tells me Herrera doesn't rate Fabian.

I wouldn't be surprised if Herrera doesn't call up Fabian for the final 4 spots. In Herrera eyes, Fabian had to impress him in the US game to begin to rate Fabian as a NT-player. Unfortunately, Fabian didn't light it up against the US and Herrera will probably use that as justification to not call him up....what a fukin joke.

So we are not bringing creative playmakers to wc? Only pena and montes and they are not exactly game changers in my book. We need gio and fabian both imo.

In 2010 we had blanco, gio wtf

thats what i dont get, they get played alone up top, when I think they need to come back for the ball and start an attack and distribute passes to a target guy like chicharito and Oribe or at best Vela.

    If the list were true:
    1) we dont have creative playmakers
    2) we dont have pacey wingers i.e. aqueeno or barrera. Ummm ok brizuela but he is unproven
    3) dat defense doe

why is everyone surprised? it was pretty obvious this was going to happen since he said he wasn't calling the best players but the ones that fit in his system.

Another alternative explanation: that list is bullshit.

2 pages of pissed off rants based on an uncorfirmed list.

No way Ochoa and Gio are questionable.

Ochoa is going because of the marketing, he, Guardado and Chicharo were never in danger of being excluded, Gio on the other hand doesn't seem to be popular in that aspect, add to that the media isn't backing him up like they did with Pulido, Fabian and Jimenez.

Well, I just finished watching zona tricolor, a televisa show where they spent the first 15 minutes praising Gio.

That said, don't ever change, system coaches. People knock on Vasco for his temporary insanity, but at least he found a system that he thought would best use the talent available.

Is not confirmed, but coming from Ruben Rodriguez, whom Piojo seems to like and share info with. I would say it is pretty close to the real thing,

I think it's more of a Piojo thing this time. It would be in the federation's best interest to have Memo and Gio there, since they're big draws. Piojo is just stubborn with his system shit mentality.

Lol. Isaac Brizuela? Nuckka please. He doesn't fit Piojo's system either but I guuess he's going because of stubbornness. He hasn't done anything even remotely good in NT.

He only played a few minutes vs Costa Rica and a half vs the U.S. Oh wow, let's cap him. Fvck off.

Guardado-as much as I like him, because I'm always rooting for him- he just doesn't have the level to be at the top at the moment. Needs to play constantly.

    Piojos doubts should be

Ochoa vs Memo for starting goalkeeper

Jimenez vs Pulido for last position in forward

    Aquino vs Brizuela-both being wingers.

Ponce vs Layun- because Ponce is a better defender.

If he should start Fabian over Montes.

Which led to him playing Bofo and Guille. Aguirre and Piojo have the same strength, they are cabrones who are one of the guys and are great at motivating a team. But, like Aguirre, if Piojo thinks his system takes priority over his talent, that will be his downfall. Afterall, this is the exact thing that happened to Chepo, he thought his system needed players like Salcido, Torrado, Maza and Zavala and the results played out exactly as predicted.

We're not great analyst but damn if we know what's coming.

We knew Guille was going to be useless. We knew sitting down Moreno and using Maza-Rafa partnership was going to fail against Argentina. And bofo

Chepo started off good but became too predictable, too stubborn. Choosing Maza, Salcido, Torrado, doing nothing but crosses. Trying to win by balon parado was not going to get things done.

And now, Piojo gets a few "wins" and now he's going in stubborn with his system. No creativity at all, no ball possesion, no skill but going wide, and expecting to get good crosses in. Maybe hope Gullit does a nice through ball.

Winning against New Zealand, South Korean(b-team), and tying U.S's semi B-team, with most of the squad that Piojo is going to take, just doesn't make me feel at ease.

I don't see them out. I see them on the bench.
Piojo is going to play the guy he is comfortable with because he is not really up to task.....that means liga MX players.....shit, it would not surprise me if Moi is #1 keeper.

I still think (or maybe hope) that the list given is bullshit. However, I would go a step further. In terms of talent, the mexican team is Gio and 10 other players, there is no one else as dangerous. It would be ridiculous to not start him, let alone leave him off the list. No way Piojo is at dumb.

possibly. I do worry about Gio as a striker though, I think he would be much better as a free role in the mid. I see Fabian as a poor man's Gio and he didn't look too good as a striker.
