Bajenle. Chile has a great generation and has been working recently to have a better NT but that is barely now and far cry from making them a superior NT. As Chile now so did Denmark, Turkey and even Hungary and the tide went back down. Historically they aren't superior. I mean with all and Bielsa, their praise started for a world cup performance that is almost the same thing Mexico does and some people act as if it's a curse for us.

It seems like each WC the coach names someone to the squad that is a surprise or comes out of nowhere. Talking about guys that hadn't been called up recently by them or weren't really on the radar leading up. You think Piojo will follow that trend? Or just go with what he has been calling up?

We have never been a top 8 team in the World Cup and yet, you guys think 5 straight Rounds of 16 is underperforming? If anything, we have overperformed.

Who said anything about Uruguay? And the same point stands with them with the exception of them having history.

Typical stuff. A team like Belgium or Chile does something and it's great and they are so much better than us but we consistently do something great or the same but it's crap what we do and we're terrible.

If you make to the round of 16. Stands to reason you would be in the top 16, Mexico is normally between 20-22th place, so if you look it that way. Yes, Mexico over performs. I think the problem is that the hype is top 8 easy.

top 16(somewhere between 12th and 16th) is right about where we are, we dont under or over perform we just hit the spot, that has been our place historically even going back to pre-86 times, I think we only won once outside of mexico when the world cup was a 16 team tournament.
Playing to our level in a world cup is not a bad thing it's actually a good thing but it would be great if for once we over performed.

We have over performed. While there is a case to be made for us being a top 16 team in the past couple of world cups, we were certaintly not at this level in the 90s or early 00s. You combine this with over performances in other several international tournaments (Olympics, Confed Cup, Copa America) and overall, in international competition, we have over performed.

On the other hand, we have underperformed in Concacaf.

But overall, in the last 20 years, our national team has punches above its weight class.

Negative I would go as far as saying we have under performed, why? Well 94 we choked, 98 we choked, 02 we choked, 06 we underperformed in the group stage and bunkered against Argentina. In 2010 we underperformed in the group stage and pissed in our pants against Argentina.

06 and 10 are the worst we have performed in easy WC groups

If he leave Gio out, it will be the one mistake that happens every world cup.

last time it was Memo and Guardado left out

Cuauh in 2006, in 2002 aguirre did not played Palencia who was coming out of a decent/good season with Espanyol. At the time there was a lot of shit said about Manolo's team in 1998 as well since he left out the old guard in favor of Cuauh and a few young guys.
