Because of a discomfort, Edgar Castillo would not have activity against Veracruz. #Xolos

Castillo and the rest of the Yanks at Tijuana will play against Toluca in the 1st leg of the Liguilla quarterfinals. Chivas de Guadalajara and Morelia both lost on the final day of the regular season and Tijuana ended the season in 7th place to qualify for the post season.

Castillo is the only yank starting again for Tijuana today in their playoff game. Gomez, Corona, and Garza on the bench. Arriola and Guido not in the 18.

Toluca 3-1 Xolos (Toluca 3-1 Xolos aggregate). And with that, all remaining yanks except Yarbrough are out of the Liguilla.

Castillo goes the 90 min and Corona enter as a sub at the 67 min.

A tough couple of weeks for El Homie:

Reports from Tijuana indicating that LB Edgar Castillo will not continue with Xolos. Greg Garza will take his spot as starting LB #USMNT

It's not really tough if he has other offers...he could move to a better or equal team.

Monterrey would be good. A Mexican club that has been consistently pretty strong for a while.

Eek...that would not be good. They're a low $$ team that often has very little talent wise to work with.

    Low $$ team?

They are now owned by TV Azteca and have an above average roster. It's the reason Tomas Boy decided to return.

    I did not know that.

Changes everything....last I remember in 2013, they were struggling to make things work with a limited budget sporting guys such as Facundo Erpen ex. DCU outside back who was....less than amazing which says a lot if he went from the Argentine second division to first division mexican ball (at least to their budget).

Azteca is "supposed" to sell the club within I believe 2-3 years as LigaMX tries to move away from multi-team ownership, but LigaMX makes ownership rules up on the fly, in the end Televise, Azteca, and Carlos Slim have the influence. The whole Chiapas, San Luis, Queretaro thing was really bizarre last summer.

Although, Azteca could decide to try to sell Monarcas, and keep Atlas.

Yeah this is all fairly recent.

Like @ielag mentioned above, LigaMX will "force" TVAzteca to get rid of one of their teams within a few years but it will most likely be Atlas. This past season Atlas took some of Morelia's better players and it seems like the owners will pour money into Atlas as their flagship franchise.

Regarding Castillo, at the moment I would think a move to Atlas would be somewhat of a lateral move.

A move to Monterrey could be an upgrade but other than that, I'm not sure Edgar has many options for an upward move seeing as how he has already played for Santos, America and Tigres.
