What a lovely player. Lived up to the hype straight away, and maintained it this season. One of my favourite players now.

I just wish he would fix those bags under is eyes, I have a fantastic Chrysallis Serum that would do the job in a couple of weeks. I'll have to add this to the "To-Do" List after Natalia's chest is taken care of :ROFLMAO:

Antenne Bayern's Johannes Ott called up Mesut pretending to be National Team coach Jogi Löw..... It's short but he tells Mesut to let Bayern win because the German players need a title before the Euro's. He also tells Mesut not to give it his all.... Mesut really does not know what to say.

    Translation courtesey of crinkly-ears.livejournal.com

    Mesut: Hello Mr Löw...Trainer

"Jogi": Hi Mesut! Servus! I wanted to call you about the game this evening. You must be a little anxious, probably?

Mesut: Yeah - just a bit.

"Jogi": Just wanted to wish you luck...

    Mesut: Thank you.

"Jogi": ...I just think you should try to rest yourselves a bit for the Euros. Don't play with too much energy, don't do too much...and you know, the Bayern players...they'd like to be in the final.

    Mesut: hmhm....

"Jogi": Do you think it will work out? What do you think will happen?

Mesut: I'm convinced we're going to win the game.*

"Jogi": I'm also convinced but it would be nice if the Bayern players were to win because you know, they'd like to get a title and well - you think it will work out?

    Mesut: In every way.

"Jogi": Well, I just want to wish you luck.

    Mesut: Thank you.

"Jogi": We'll be watching the game and pressing our thumbs and I'm looking forward to the Euros and have fun.

    Mesut: Thank you.

"Jogi": Uh, Mesut - it was just a bit of fun...

Mesut: Yes, I know (begins to laugh)...

"Jogi": I wish you a lot of fun this evening...

    Mesut: Thank you.

"Jogi": And it's bound to be a good game!

    Mesut: Thank you.

    "Jogi": Talk to you later!

    Mesut: Talk to you later!

Those bags serve as structural support to keep his eyes from falling off his face. Removing these load-bearing bags would nullify his ability to be creative. The "avatar eyes" are instrumental in Ozil's play-making ability and enhance his vision (literally) and scope of the field.

I am so happy that we signed him (can't imagine him with another team). He is a player that you can count on for the next decade. I think of all our players (except for Ronaldo), he has more of a chance to be the WPOTY in the near future.

I presume it would have been an option to either play the friendly (with gate receipts going to Werder or some other financial arrangement) or direct payment in lieu of the friendly. It's not ideal to cancel a friendly but I don't hold too strong an opinion either way without knowing what the Club's alternative plans are.

I don't know the details either, but it don't think it is douchey at all when you consider: Euro 2012, World Cup Qualifiers, Olympics, four matches in the US pre-season tour, the early Liga start (18/19 August) and the SuperCopa matches. Can't say I am shocked that a one match commitment - that offers a contractual 'out' via a penalty - is the one that is discarded.

They should be glad. All that complaining from (not)Finance experts about having to "help Spain with their money", now they get a share of it back. :D
