    My guess would be:

    Kiraly

    Wojtkowiak - Vallori - Ayguen - Volz

Bierofka - Buelow (other big name DM if purchased)

    Nicu Halfar

    Makos Lauth

    Dark Home Kits...

I take it back...we would have to go back nearly 45+ years to find a home kit this dark...

Should I be surprised that Stopplekamp may not start out in the Starting XI?

Makos is DM. The striker/forward is still to come. Probably Stoppelkamp will play this part until the new one arrives.

My bad...could have sworn he was a striker. :D Sub Makos for Buelow then.

Stoppelkamp? Hmmm....again, *I* would play the 4-2-3-1 with Stoppelkamp as the recessed AM where he, Halfar and Nicu could switch up since all have played on the wings and in AM. Now more than ever is a GREAT time to stop the double-6 and move into the other formation. However, we do need a back-up for Benny.

And I should have been more clear, but that was going to be my question... Who will the NEW striker/forward potentially be?

    Thoughts?

No clue. As W/B said many of the predictions have turned out to be wrong. I suspect we will get a decent "second tier" striker like Lauth but a bit younger. Someone who, most likely, we can lure as the successor to Lauth when Benny retires. At 30 he cannot have too many years left. It will likely be someone who can play natural striker or AM.

All I hear are rumors which are no better than what the TZ and AZ put out. Much speculation. My guess is Hinterberger has something ususual up his sleeve. On paper his acquisitions seem okay so far. Vallori and Nicu have been decent last season. Let's see how these other guys pan out.

Love Stoppelkamp's potato sack line. Do they still have potato sacks around Munich? I only see them at Five Guys now.

Trikots: ewww. Funny that the cookie cutters from last year were better. Away looks the best tho.

Transfers: Makos, wow! Can't believe got him and Stoppelkamp. Hard to believe we could sign these guys.

Formation: Echoing others, but the 4-2-3-1 just seems so superior to the 4-2-2-2 Maurer has been using. If we can find someone who is a AM/striker then you could rotate Lauth, Stoppelkamp and New Guy between the two spots. The only other weakness is center back. Aygun? Meh. What about Schindler? Ehhhh. Could move Bulow back to CB and pair Stahl or Bierofka with Makos? Regardless, it's a very nice looking roster considering the big losses of Volland and Aigner.

Disagree on Aygün. I wish we had him when he was younger. He is slow but makes up for it in positioning and timing. Good for the 2.BL but not higher.

    Training fotos here.

Makos says why he choose 1860:

This [the tenacity of 1860 in pursuing him] has been the decisive factor why I finally decided for 1860. The trust of the sports management, I've felt in several interviews.
    Herrn Maurer
and I known each other already from his time as a coach in Greece. For me it is a gift to be able to play in Germany.

In 193 league games he has 60 yellows and 4 y/r. Hinterberger said to Makos that he would be a leading player at 1860, rather than a first tier sub with some of the 1.BL clubs looking at him...and he wanted to play. He also liked the emphasis on promotion too.

Frisco, Sir. The correct answer is Friscos pitcher Brian Wilson.

    Loewen News 7-11-12

Not much today other than waiting for the signing of the next player. Schneider was at training today and responded to questions about a possible new signing with this: "Well, it certainly won't be a 'stop-gap' player." This statement, coupled with management saying it might take a few weeks to complete this next deal, is leading to speculation that Argie striker Ismael Blanco might truly be the transfer target. Such a signing would take time due to visas, travel, etc. Of course a local player could also take that much time, but he is the name that keeps resurfacing.

Hmmm... Well, that would address a need. I am sure you folks know more about Blanco than anything I can dig up online.
