    Exactly.

Poor people, people of color and women are all at disadvantage whether they realize it or not. So a statement like "everyone can make it if they try" should be "every middle class, Protestant, white, American male can make it if they try" to be more accurate.

Yeah, the road to "success" is right there and they just choose to live in substandard housing, send their kids to crappy schools, work menial, degrading and backbreaking jobs and suffer from diseases at a much higher rate than middle class people.

Those people must be sick in the head!

The idea that the poor like and deserve to be where they're at is completely and utterly ridiculous. Literally thousands of books and studies have been done that explain this but I'll make it as short as possible:

It is institutional barriers that keep poor people poor, not personal character, drive or motivation. Any poor person that has "made it" will tell you that it was really freakin' hard to do. Conversely, a middle-class person will tell you they had it much easier (I can attest to this). An upper-class person even easier, still.

And just like any other task that is "really freakin' hard to do", only a few people can do it. This is why only a few people that are born poor, manage to move up, and this is true here, in Peru, anywhere. So they're poor not because they're dumb, don't have "good values" or are lazy, but because they receive shitty education, live in shitty neighborhoods, have parents with shitty jobs, have shitty health and are victims of racism, sexism (women and minorities, that is) etc.

"Contradiction", in my opinion values are given to you by your parents & family & school as you grow up..... That’s why I said "lack of education + money + values"

Here is something you stated in another thread, I can use as an example:

"I hit that 40yr old and then leave her after a few months"

We all see this everyday, a young HS kid or a 30yr old just want to "hit" or "tap" that ass and they end up making children by accident like idiots, is it too hard to wear a dam condom?? then they have to get on child support or marry early in their lives etc etc etc.... and you would think that at this point they learned their lesson but nooo some go ahead and get another young girl pregnant by still being with their first marriage.... LOL! If you don't call this stupid then I sure don't know what to call it. But hey rich people like to have their “thing” at the side as well right? But at least the poor should know where to draw the line.

Birth rates are higher in poorer neighborhoods and even in poorer countries than in wealthier ones. I don't think poor are any less intelligent than richer ones, there are larger things like job opportunities, education, etc.

And values are a result of people's schooling, the education of their parents, the jobs of their parents, not what cause them. So once again, the source of poverty continue to be institutional causes, not personal ones.
