All the paperwork is in and Janniere is the odd man out.

LaBauex also goes on the DL. So I guess the salary cap concern wasn't accurate since none of these moves free up salary cap AIUI.

So in 6 weeks, another shoe drops, right? Don't we need an international spot or roster spot with Edu, Henao, Labeaux and potentially Jamie Smith all coming back around that time?

LaBauex's an American. We're fine now once Smith gets his green card. 31 rostered players, 6 internationals. Wallace on season-ending DL gets us to 30/6.

I knew Labeaux was American. Oops.

So basically, even if Smith's healthy, we're going to have to keep him on the pseudo-disabled list until he gets his paperwork?

Yeah, but I've heard multiple reports that his paperwork is expected essentially any day now.

I heard that a few months ago about another player we signed, from Argentina :p

But that's good to hear. And I trust these reports over the Rivero ones, for a variety of reasons. All of a sudden we're going to have a lot of tough choices all over the field about who starts, who makes the bench, and hell, looking further out, who's excess to requirements if Pareja has more moves in mind during the July/August window.

So Janniere's only appearance for the Sr. Team was in an Open Cup play-in match? Didn't even make the Metapan road team? I guess he didn't impress the coaching staff too much.

Never having seen Janniere play, I'm not really in a position to judge, but based on Yamada's performances during the Combine, I'm glad we're holding on to him. Hopefully Edu will add the killer instinct we've been lacking into our attack.

After reading some of Pareja's evaluation on Edu, it may be the case where a lot of future roster moves will be central to Edu's level of play. But since the organization has shown so much patience with Smith's potential return to form, it would seem someone like Labeaux would be at risk over Smith, and Hill, who may be a better option at diverse depth.

I hope Edu can quickly build rapport with Casey. Casey needs more high level service and distribution targets.

Other factors for Smith: is his age, injury history and final year of contract.

I think these are the main 3 against him in forward planning beyond, a stop-gap fill in for remainder of season.
