City deserved the title and I'm happy that United lost fuck that scum. I'm sure Dzeko isn't even that mad, he is already treated like a king in Bosnia and he makes crazy money away from that beautiful shithole... He's living the life even if he is on the bench.
United didn't even have a shot on goal. No one here really expected Dzeko to play so it isn't a surprise.
2009/2010 Dzeko was a beast. We need him back. I honestly think Susic should try and light a fire under Dzeko's ass because for some reason I have a feeling Dzeko will be staying next season and he will continue to be on the bench.
In 2010, he scored 18 goals in the 2nd half of the 09/10 season and became top goalscorer in the Bundesliga. Then later that year in the first half of 10/11 before he moved to City, he scored 10 goals for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, also scoring a couple against Manchester United. In 2008, he only scored 6 goals in the first half of 08/09 season. We're not talking about seasons, we're talking about the years that he scored a shit load of goals. That was 2009 and 2010.
@ the pic of Dzeko holding the trophy, he might be able to do that with Manchester City in 2 weeks. Dzeko had a fantastic season that was cut short. But it was still a fantastic season. 13 goals and 5 assists in just 16 games. That's an unbelievable record, faster goalscoring and assisting rate than 08/09 and 09/10.
Dzeko played an important role in City's title (if they win). His goalscoring rate is same as Aguero's, and much better if you exclude Aguero's penalties. He's the 2nd top goalscorer for City. He still scored plenty of goals and has one of the fastest scoring rates in the league. He had quite a few assists as well.
Also, when City played with Aguero and Dzeko up top, they had something like a 10 pt lead over Man United. As soon as Dzeko started getting benched, the gap between United and City started closing. Dzeko was a tall pivot up front and created a ton of space for other players.. whoscored.com had an excellent analysis on the amount of decisive and productive passes made by Dzeko. Balotelli didn't add another dimension to City's game like Dzeko did and you could tell how hard it was for City to score goals when Dzeko wasn't around. Also Balotelli & Dzeko never works. It has to be Aguero & Dzeko. City played best when it was Aguero & Dzeko.. but we all know how Mancini is. He'd hurt City's title chances and even his career just to start Balotelli over Dzeko.
Dzeko was better in season 2008/09 than season 2009/10. 08/09 Club: 42 games, 36 goals NT: 9 games, 9 goals Total = 51 games, 45 goals 09/10 Club: 48 games, 29 goals NT: 10 games, 5 goals Total = 58 games, 34 goals 08/09 was when he won the Bundesliga and he was in his best form for the national team that season. He's never been the same since.
Dude you completely missed my point. I'm not talking about seasons. I'm talking about years. Dzeko hardly scored anything in the 2008 part of the 08/09 season. He scored 4 goals in the first half, and then 22 goals in the 2009 part of 08/09 season. Then he did the same thing in the 2010 part of 09/10 season when he scored 18 goals in the 2nd half of the season. 2009-10 is more accurate than 2008-09.
Still doesn't disprove my point. January 2008 to June 2009 - 62 games, 32 goals (Club and national team) - Goal every 174.375 minutes August 2009 to December 2010 - 73 games, 36 goals (Club and national team) - Goal every 182.5 minutes 2008 and 2009 combined is still better than 2009 and 2010 combined.
Why are you doing January to June, why not January 2008 to December 2009? January 2008 to December 2009: 96 games, 62 goals, 28 assists 1 goal per 139 mins 1 goal/assist per 95 mins January 2009 to December 2010: 102 games, 73 goals, 23 assists 1 goal per 125 mins 1 goal/assist per 95 mins
Because that's dumb. You're basically using the entire 2009 calendar year on both sides of the argument and that's just dumb. If you're going to do that, you might as well just say 2010 was better than 2008 for Dzeko and just exclude 2009 completely.
How is that dumb lol. All I'm saying is that Dzeko was better from 2009 to 2010 than from 2008 to 2009.
Because if you're just going to use the entire calendar year of 2009 for both sides of the argument, then you might as well just exclude it and just say what you really think; Dzeko was better in 2010 than he was 2008 and that really isn't even an argument. He was just a prospect in 2008 but had already won the Bundesliga and Golden Boot in Germany by the end of 2010.
We're just debating which period Dzeko did best in. Both your definition and my definition of 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 are the same as in they both span two years. But in my definition of 2009-2010, Dzeko did better than in yours, and our original debate was which time period Dzeko was best in, so mine is more accurate.
