24 year old midfielder Eddy Prugh has signed with well known YA club Boden in Sweden and arrived here yesterday. He was training with the team for the first time today. Just like Zac Lubin who is on trial with local rivals IFK Luleå, he's from Bozeman, Montana (small world huh?). I'll have some links up within the next hour or so, writing down some stories for our website at the moment, but thought I'd share this with you guys at least. The club is still hoping for a return of last years success story Matt Sanner, but right now only god knows where he'll end up
All in swedish, but now it's official. http://www.svenskalag.se/news.asp?teamID=5094&newsID=436971 http://www.svenskalag.se/news.asp?teamID=5094&newsID=436973
Eddy made his debut today playing the full 90 minutes in our first friendly of the season against finnish top division team RoPS who won 4-1. Not too unexpected as RoPS has been training for quite some time on full sized pitch while we've not had the best training possibilities yet with only indoor gyms available for training, so this was the first time for our players on a full sized pitch. Eddy was pretty anonymous, but didn't play bad either. We also have another american on trial at the moment, Andy Lorei who also played the full 90 minutes as a striker. As we were pushed back for a big part of the game he didn't get that much to do, but still showed some promise with his size and also showed he's got some skill. We'll see what happens with him as he's only been here for a few days.
And in case anyone wants to watch the game RoPS were streaming it on their Youtube page: We're the team in green, Eddy is #10 (central midfield) and Andy #23 (striker)
2nd pre-season game yesterday when we played the american academy team PSC. We won 2-1 and Eddy had an assist for the first goal, but most of all he had a brilliant performance in the first half where he won alot of balls and played very good in general. If he can keep this up I'm sure he'll be a great asset to our team this season. Andy Lorei also got on the scoresheet with the 2nd goal and also played pretty well, we'll see if he ends up being offered a contract or not.
Another solid game in the midfield today for Eddy when we beat Notviken 2-0. He keeps winning those balls in the mid and he is gonna be a solid player this year it looks like.
With one game left in the pre-season Eddy has one goal and one assist, but will probably not be a player who is gonna be alot in the scoring statistics this season either. I'd say he's been a bit inconsistent so far and I would like to see him move the ball a bit quicker sometimes and if he does he could be a very useful player. Since we've lost a central midfielder during the pre-season, I'd say he'll probably start most games for us this year, but could have been a bit more uncertain if we would still have had that player in our team.
In our season opener on saturday Eddy was awarded man of the match and got alot of praise from our coach in a 2-0 win (our first season opening win since 2009, which so happens to be the last time we won the league). The game was more of a physical battle rather than a well played one, which I guess suits Eddys playing style a bit.
Eddy was substituted at half-time in our 1-3 loss at home to Selånger today in what seemed to be a tactical sub which means the coach probably was not very happy with his performance today. On another note, we've started to post more videos (both interviews and highlights from our games) on our website from this week, so if you're interested please check it out, www.bbkfotboll.se
Eddy is suspended in our league game the upcoming weekend, but got to play as a striker in our Norrbotten county cup game (which is a qualification tournament for the swedish cup) tonight when we beat Notviken away 3-0. He did surprisingly well and even got on the scoring sheet with the final goal which was a nice left footed strike off the post.
After being suspended last game Eddy was back in our lineup today in our 3-0 win over Mariehem. Not too much to say about Eddys performance today, even if he wasn't all too happy with it himself. But mostly just wanted to post the interview I did with him after the game.
Mostly been updates in the Andy Lorei thread so far, but today I have a reason to post in this one. Eddy scored the 2-0 goal in our 2-0 win over local rivals and league leaders Piteå IF today. The goal was a real beauty and probably our goal of the season so far, check out the highlights here: Also I did an interview with Eddy after the game (Piteå player interview first):
