I always thought Freebirds was something you eat AFTER your mind has been altered, not somewhere you go to get it. Is Rosenberg popular for that kind of activity? I swear, I know nothing of Houston's surrounding areas. How much is it usually? I just throw money at them and never really pay attention to prices. $3 for water, $5 for a bottle of coke, and $6 for nachos is alright, but I would prefer some non-ballpark food. Not that I eat during games, since I'm usually full from tailgating. However, that may change with these new rules, huh? That does sound exciting! The conversations that happen in golf course can change the World, or is my view of CEOs and politicians talking business while golfing just something I got from movies? lol
Primarily movies! However, relationships built on a golf course translate to the business world VERY easily. No better way to judge a person's character than to watch how they play a sport where calling penalties on yourself is required.
So I drove by this morning and the landscaping is going in. They are putting some trees in (Pine, I think). Unfortunately, no palm trees.
just a guess here, but I suspect they're bald cypress, not pine. Would not be very forward thinking to plant pines that will reach 60 feet tall, then blow over onto the stadium in a hurricane. just spitballin' here
You are probably right. They had the same physical description of a pinetree. I just saw it in the corner of my eye as I past by. If Newtex or somebody else hasn't beat me to it, I will stop by tomorrow morning and take some pix.
Hate to burst your bubble but someone is hopefully building DCU's new stadium with some of this money...
Amazing pic there. A lot of concrete here! Are they adding trees or bushes or something in the trapoidzal looking gaps in the concrete....??
I really like the steps... never noticed those in the renderings. One thing I don't like is how close the plants are to the ticket booth, looks like there are plenty but it could be a hassle if there are some long lines. That's assuming where there isn't concrete now there will be plants.
Well if they were trees near ticket booths then that would provide shade. Some of the dirt could be other forms of paving/bricks? Original STH bricks!?
Really? You're going to complain about trees close to the stadium shading the 12 ticket windows? The past six years we've had a Tuff-Shed with 2 windows and a plastic chain.
I remember Robertson before the added end, and people used to jump the fence to watch games. I know I'm young, but I'm really feeling bitter. I'm bitter because you dang people don't appreciate things. Yes, I'm young but I have been following soccer in Houston longer than most people my age. Let's all just get used to the quirks of our new stadium, because many of us will probably never see another Dynamo Stadium after this. Enjoy your new home people, because we have just committed ourselves to it. If all goes well I plan on spending hundreds, if not, thousands of hours inside that stadium.
Hahaha... No, no, no, no. I'm just thinking about if there are ever long lines and people get backed up into them. In other words not a lot of room for line formation . Ok, shift the focus back to homeless people until some more pictures get posted.
Ran the Texas Independence Relay and the route took us right next to the stadium. It looked spectacular, even in my zombie-like without sleep for the past 33 hours. I was impressed to say the least. I can't wait until the stadium opens and we enjoy some footy.
There's always 2 sides to an arguement. Smart bird btw, it's about get on the Tube. Mind the gap and those zombie homeless peeps!
