Have not been to Tuscon yet so maybe a quick visit is in order.

Tucson is a nice place, but I prefer my preseason to take place in Houston. Bring those teams to us!

Dammit I wanted to go to Disney World. Does that mean I have to bring my papers or proof that I'm a U.S. citizen.

That opening game against SKC should be fairly intense, as far as pre-season games go. :D

It looks like the main field used to be a baseball park. Not that bad looking, though.

I haven't spent much time in Tuscon, but I've been to the Phoenix area several times, and have really enjoyed hiking in northern Arizona (back when my knees and back were more cooperative). Could be interesting.

I miss our Whataburger Field scrimmage... that was a fun little road trip :/

That last game in Corpus must have been the game Koke watched to think Cisco was the next messi

You should come to Tucson because you don't have an excuse. I drove to Houston to see the Union lose, so you should drive/take Amtrak to see the Dynamo play in Tucson. If you have any questions, just ask me. If you want pics or info about the last Desert Cup, ask me. That is all.

Southern Arizona is a great place to visit too. Really nice little towns and some good blues music.

I'm assuming that's going to be a morning scrimmage against the Dynamo Academy. If it's on a Thursday the only way I can go is if it's between 11:30AM and 1:30PM. That of course probably isn't going to happen so I'm screwed.

If anyone is planning to come to Charleston for the preseason match here and has question let me know.

    some quick FYI:
    • single day tickets are $15 for two games, ticket for entire week (all six matches) start at $35
    • Off season at the beach means lots of cheap rentals. Some places that sleep 12-15 going for about $1000 for the week. split that is dirt cheap for staying the week.
    • Tons going on outside of the matches: sightseeing, food, fishing, etc. Charleston voted one of the best Cities in the world by Conde Nast
    • Our supporter group always host a few events as well. Tailgates, viewing parties, pub crawl
    • also chance to see one of the greatest collections of soccer memorabilia in the country at the Three Lion's pub inside the stadium

Is the College kids v. Dynamo reserves/academy kids scheduled yet? It's usually this week, no?

This wouldn't apply to you guys though. This is for supporters who teams are in the actual Desert Diamond Cup (Seattle, NY, NE, & RSL). You guys are in the Desert Friendlies, which run by the same organization (FC Tucson) but is a separate event.

Correct, do you happen to know why FC Tucson only did this for the Cup as opposed to the Friendlies or both?

Because the Desert Cup (the main event) is sponsored by Desert Diamond Casinos, while the Desert Friendlies are "Presented by FC Tucson." If the friendlies were sponsored by Desert Diamond, they would have run the same deal during the friendlies.

I saw all 90 minutes at game today v acadmey; here are my (player) observations:
    1. New left back looks quite good. should be ok cover for Ashe
    2. New Center half ditto, cover for Boswell and Jamaica Boy
    3. Sarkodie is solid
    4. Ricco is a total class act
    5. JJ looks poor! Sorry, but I predict he is not going to make it with us....
    6. Ownby poor as well. Can't beat the under 18 fullback ; forget it.
    7. Weaver is solid option but won't ride us to the supporters shield...
    8. Carr was there on crutches and we will totally miss him.
    9. Can't believe we have let Kandji go. See number 8.
    10. Very concerned about striking options. Bruin is our only solid option. See number 9
    11. See number 10. We might have to play 4-5-1 this year
    12. See number 11. Above formation suits our strenghts now. Bruin up front...
    13. .....supported by Boniek, Moffat, Ricco, Barnes and Brad....
    14. Any questions????
