some of us were talking on Sat. about the fact that the sunny "east" side, opposite the press box, will have the view of downtown. The "west" side will have a nice view of that "Wald" sign, though...
I'm not even sure that the "east" side will have a view of downtown. The roof over the west side may interfere with that. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
But in the mean time we've got a year of baseless speculation to keep us busy. Personally, I'm going to be disappointed if they don't set up an elaborate series of mirrors to give fans in all parts of the stadium a view of downtown.
it would be awesome if we could do this in our new stadium.... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ndV-zZRVCA&hd=1"]YouTube - ARIS - BOCA JUNIORS 5-8-2009 Teams Entrance HD 720p[/ame]
Man so looking at the webcam it doesn't look like they have dont **** since the groundbreaking. Do we have to get concrete and fencing from Home Depot ourselves?
On the Dynamo website it says the groundbreaking was purely ceremonial, but the actual work won't begin for a couple of weeks. The opening is still planned for April 2012.
Does anyone know exactly how the stadium would be expanded to 30k? Seats behind both goals in a new tier, or a new tier on the west or east goal line sides? As there is a roof on these sides, not sure it would be that easy. But as it has been quoted a few times that this building is expandable to 30k you would think they have a solid / detailed plan?
I think it would have to be an upper deck on the east side. The outside of the stadium including the roof is mostly panels over a framework. Peel off the panels, expand the framework, and then re-cover. Just a guess. I'm sure the architects/engineers have a plan.
