he has them tattoed on his arm. jacket is covering it though. the new training suits are pretty amazing more photos
Spoke to CC a bit. Carr, no less than 7 months out for sure but we all kinda knew that There is some negotiating about the Greenstar sponsorship but still the sponsor to start season.
As much as I'd like to bash Ortiz, he just was probably doing his assignment from the Chronicle at Rangers camp in Arizona. Now, he probably volunteered and loves his baseball stuff and has tweeted more about the Texas Rangers and Clemens than the Dynamo all month, which means we are reliant on part-time writers and volunteers to report Dynamo news.
you are so friggin' contrarian! Just when I think you are going to zig - you've zagged. (but your point is valid...)
The fact that we have a baseball writer for the Houston Chronicle covering Spring Training for friggin' Rangers says all we need to know. It may not be Ortiz' "fault," but it's certainly a(nother) sad comment on that rag of a daily.
I still have a print of the front page celebrating the Rockets 1994 title kicking around the house. Need to get that framed.
As a supporter of Ortiz, I gotta say, what's up with his Arizona trip? I don't imagine it's his choice, and he probably can't say anything critical, but really what the hell is he doing out there? He's covering the A's? I really don't get it. Has the Chronicle completely given up on the Dynamo?? This is crazy....
He's covering MLB Spring Training. The Astros are now in the AL West so he's reporting on the other teams in that division. The Rangers, A's, Angels, and Mariners all have their spring training in Arizona. The regular Astro's reporters are off with the Astros in Florida where Houston still has its training. The Chronicle will probably get him back here next week to do Dynamo coverage.
Ok, that sort of makes sense. But how damned insulting is it to the Dynamo that the paper takes its one dedicated soccer reporter and instead of using him in the last week of preseason MLS they send him to cover non-Houston baseball teams in early preseason. They have lost all my respect as far as their soccer coverage is concerned.
You can't imagine Ortiz choosing to cover baseball instead of the Dynamo? Half of his tweets are about baseball, he loves having his BBWAA credential to swing around. I have to look, I thought I saw him taking a dig at the Dynamo press box on twitter. I bet he probably didn't protest being sent to Arizona for spring training and then constantly name-dropping. I don't blame him, he's just doing his assignent, but to pretend he'd rather be in Charleston vs. Arizona covering baseball . . .
I knew I saw something earlier: Jose de Jesus Ortiz @OrtizKicks 9h Not surprised Dynamo open conferences to fans. Their press box at BBVA is where "media" felt free to bring beer, eat pizza and cheer. #joke
