According to VI and nu.nl, Van Gaal is about to ditch the current 4-3-3 system with single DM due to the injury of Strootman. Will he return to Van Marwijk's 4-2-3-1 or something else entirely?

Hey guys... I've created this site for WC fan gear. I'll be adding more products daily between now and the WC opening.

    Check it out:
    http://www.futebolfanatic.com/netherlands/

I'm an Australia fan and will be at the Aus v Netherlands game... don't give us much hope though :(
It was always gonna be tough, but we've also had a horror run with injuries the last couple months.

Chances of vGaal bringing Sneijder to Brazil keeps getting smaller. Wesley, maybe you shouldnt have chosen for that Gala money if you wanted to play at world cup this summer:

Our midfield is starting to look more and more horrible :(

He's never been important for us. His best time was probably when he was right winger under Van Basten. And Huntelaar has a much higher goal per minute ratio for us than Van Persie.

Who does van Gaal think to replace Sneijder. v. d. vaart? Klaassen or Ziyech with almost no international experience. There aren't many options

I don't have any inventory. Its a curated list of items that are available on Amazon. You'll notice the redirect to Amazon in the overlay after clicking a product from the grid (on desktop), or it will just take you straight to the Amazon product page (on mobile).

I would have to go with Klaassen. Treat this WC as a warm-up.

    Klaassen scored again today btw

VDV isn't better than Sneijder anyway.

I would say Ziyech as he actually has creativity.

Would recommend chances for Kongolo at LB as he IMO is doing quite good

I can see Van Gaal opt for the entire Feyenoord defense line (without Mathijsen) for synergy purposes rather than individual ability. Could free up Blind for DM as well.

His midfield intentions are a complete mystery to me. The DM, BtB midfielder and classic 10 set up seems abandoned after Strootman's injury. Maybe an Ajax line with Blind, Klaassen and either Sneijder or Van der Vaart on the left half position? Assuming they can still remember how to play there.

Sneijder, if healthy, will be a starter in Brazil; even at this point in his career there are no other realistic alternatives.

Do you guys think maybe we should bring Mathijsen as an experienced bench player??

I think van Gaal should motivate Sneijder instead of killing him with these stataments!
Why doesn't he say the same for van Persie? He hasn't done very well this season while Huntelaar has been better.
He just doesn't digest the fact he went to play in Turkey while he wanted him in a top League!

Statistically Sneijder has done will in Turkey. 10 gls in 23 matches is good for a MF'er.

But then, we are talking about the Turkish league though

Isn't it ranked higher than the Dutch league/Ukrainian league? It's no England or Germany but he at least has gotten a few CL games to push himself beyond his domestic competition.

Doubt the Turkish league is a factor. Kuijt still makes the squad regularly.

Van Gaal could be trying to motivate Sneijder to perform or he is talking him down to make it easier to leave him out of the squad.

This may actually be the way van Gaal hopes to motivate Sneijder. And it might work, as Sneijder is of course a cocky s.o.b. who does not like public critism..... ;-)
I have no doubt vG will include him in the Brazil squad.

Heitinga isn't doing well and is far passed it.

Not true, I check the player ratings on many sites right after Fulham games, and Heitinga almost always gets top marks.

Sites like www.whoscored.com, goal.com and the British news sites

Heitinga is playing well for Fulham but was really not in the selection at Everton and was allowed to leave in January. It's a bit hard to judge whether he is worthy of a call up based on only a small number of games this year. If he does make the team it will mean an enormous reversal of form!

I'm actually still in a bit of shock we made the WC final with Heitinga and Mathijsen in central defence
