Pelosi definitely but he's not a defender. I'm not sure Cunningham would be an upgrade. Brooks hell yes..but he his development has all occurred in Germany which is what i was pointing out.

Pretty sure Pelosi plays Left back at Liverpool. But this is a off-topic!

    To make it on topic:

    Duane scored again yesterday

    Huddersfield Town@htafcdotcom 13 Apr
.@DuaneHolmes scored his 14th goal of the season as #htafc's Under-18s drew 1-1 with visitors Sheffield United at @htafcCanalside today

Pelosi's been in the midfield as a box-to-box guy all year before his injury. Also, I can't see Ramos calling in Holmes this late in the cycle, but hope he gets a look at the Toulan tournament since it'd be convenient for Holmes to make it.

You are both right. He has played both in the midfield and defense during his time at Liverpool.

Not 100% sure but I think Pelosi only played left back a few times as a fill in, so not too sure that it was ever a serious consideration.

He was moved all over the place. Left back, Left midfield, center midfield. They finally settled on a holding midfield role but I don't think he was just a fill in.

LB was only a few games.. the last thing I read on him was he was used as an attacking mf. One of the comments was that he was physically mature enough to attach but still lacked the physical make up to defend against the grown men

One day I hope to play in the @MLS. Great attacking style of football in that league.

Nice to see a dual-citizen look favorably upon MLS and it's style of play.

I posted this in the YA forum

Duane Holmes has won an award called the Donald Bell Award

I've never heard of it either (since it's the first time the award has been handed out) but it sounds cool. Congrats to him

Perhaps Duane Holmes should have been given a look by Tab Ramos for the last U20s..

He has been getting positive press and hype from local media but made his pro debut yesterday and lived up to the anticipation.

If only his name was Duano Holmeso and he sat on the UCLA bench!

Seriously though not sure Tab can be blamed too much for this.

Watching him right now.. he's legit.

He assists just minutes into his Championship debut.

The game ended.. Huddersfield 1-1 Blackpool

Holmes was terrific. Assisting on the equalizer and setting up a PK which his teammate missed off the crossbar.

He's fast and has great vision. He's confident.

I think he'll be a frontrunner for the Olympic team in 2016

Best thing about Duane Holmes? He's from ATL!!!!

Maybe we can sign him when we get an MLS team.

"He's one hell of a player" Martin Paterson on @DuaneHolmes after he setup Martin's equaliser in today's 1-1 draw: http://mobile.htafc.com/news/articl...ost-derby-1256026.aspx?pd=635236797250000000…

"Paterson’s goal was setup by substitute Duane Holmes, capping another eye-catching cameo from the Academy graduate.

“We all know how talented Duane is, but he’s only 19 and you have to be careful. If you use him too much and things don’t go well his head could drop and it could make things difficult. However, I think the fans here have an exciting time ahead of them, because I’d pay to watch him every week.

“When he comes on he sets goals up for fun and that’s tough; I don’t think I could come on in the hole and start creating chances! He shifts well and goes past people; there’s no doubt that he’s a good player. We just have to bring him through properly.

“It will be interesting to see if he can make that transition into the team in 2014. I’m sure he will, because he’s one hell of a player.”

Here's an interview on YouTube, posted by YTFC. Good opportunity to hear the kid speak if you've never done so.
