Probably a good guess, it would be nice for them to have something respectable. I can't believe LA is that Herbalife crap again.
Could be All Star game, a National Team game, maybe a DP or something else who knows but they already have a team a stadium and a stadium sponsor.
I am thinking no on the All-Star game since SKC has it this year and the Timbers own twitter a cryptic message about them having it next season.
Yeah I saw that Merritt seems like the kid that always wanted to brag about the cool new shit he just got.
Too bad it wasn't in time to change the stupid name, they've won a cup with it now. Checketts was the one that loved it right?
According to the MLSSoccer.com article, Checketts is moving to NYC to head up some premier ticketing firm. Too much to wish for that he'd buy into Columbus........
Ok let me see if I've got this straight; Vancouver has signed another attacking midfielder in Kobayashi but they still want Chiumiento back. Now when Chiumiento left they got money for him so they don't have his rights but because he was in MLS at one point they aren't just free to sign him, I don't really understand that part. Now that it sounds like he's coming back though he will have to go through an allocation. They still have like eight forwards even without Salgado, how are they going to put all these guys on the field. If it's one of those lottery ball allocations we better put ours in, if the worst case sanario is we get an attacking mid like Chiumiento fine with me. If we trade him back to Vancouver I wouldn't mind taking one of those forwards off their hands.
I guess I just didn't know or forgot that any player that leaves MLS is subject to allocation if they return. Obviously it happens with national team players but I guess it happens with everyone. Or does this happen with every player if two or more teams express an interest in a player and neither has a discovery claim on him or want him as a DP?
Depends on why they left. The rules on this are so hard to understand because of Discovery Claims, being cut release, offering a bona-fide contract (as the case with RR), etc.
