That Alba news stinks. However, the better view was that before that injury to Alba's other leg it was expected that he, Puyol, Masch, and Messi could all be back by next weekend's Osasuna match. I'll happily take 3 out of 4, plus Cuenca around the bend. But the truly hopeful news is that Montoya finally gets some minutes and plays well and gains Tata's confidence and re-signs with the club. All the things that Bartra finally got to do once Puyol and Masch were injured at the same time. So far, even with Alba out, Tata has only played Alves and Adriano (just like he only played Pique and Masch with Puyol out). So maybe it will take an injury to Alves or Adriano before Montoya gets a sniff of regular PT. But I really hope that all this talk of everyone embracing rotation does not just apply to the forwards and midfielders, it needs to apply to Bartra and Montoya too. Bartra got lucky due to injuries to 2 of the 3 ahead of him; I continue to hope with just 1 of the 3 in front of him out that Montoya will start and finish some games BEFORE it is necessary due to injury (and before he makes up his mind to sign elsewhere - which can happen as early as January).
More bad news - Neymar injured his hip in training. More good news - maybe he can miss out on the meaningless friendlies (though Lord knows that'll ding the paycheck the Brazilian NT gets if Ney no play).
