Just out of curiosity, why the dislike for spurs?

I see you have them higher on your foes list then the dirty mackems themselves!

Is it due to those days all those years ago when they and leeds were known for having a ton of scumbag fans.

Mostly some fans I know, but also some of the fans on here, and the years where we both pretended to be the 5 biggest club in England only to find ourselves barely in the top half.

The foe ranking doesn't matter. I hate them equally.

    :p :p

knowing good friends who happen to be supporters of either clubs, it is interesting to see the dislike for each other when there are so many commonalities between the clubs in various ways.

Strange move. Jol is generally very well liked by Spurs fans, and he would do a decent job for you guys.

You are kind of reminding me of how we did things the last 10 years up till recently. Have one bad run of results and sack the manager. Good luck with whoever you end up getting as manager, but this looks like a potential backfirer to me.

Good god, out of touch for 2 days and what do I come back to? I can't say I am surprised, becasue it is only another piece of unfathomable business by this club.

Best of luck to CH, and I hope he goes on to find a stable place and continue to improve. I never was keen on his in game adjustments, but I sure was keen on the results he produced. Recently we have even looked like a football team confident of completing a pass, too.

Remember when MA used to wear the Smith jersey? I wonder if Smith sees more of the field now. We'll see who picks the ********inj team...

Hopefully MA won't hire Famous Muppett #17 (or whatever number clown he is up to now) and give him 10M in Jan and publicly target a top 6 finish, and change managers again with 2 weeks left in the season when we look only solidly midtable.
It can go much worse than that, we know.

WTF? FFS. I'm sure there are other 3-letter combinations out there. This is ridiculous. We were actually doing fairly well this year, IMO(there's another one), all things considered.

Well, I'd still be surprised if it wasn't Pardew. Pardew won't demand high wages, won't demand transfer money and won't demand control over certain aspects of the club. The muppet wants a puppet

Newcastle hopeful of naming manager by the weekend
Why hire a competent manager who can move the club forward when you can surround yourself with more bottom-feeding friends?

I'll plop $20 down on us getting relegated the minute they hire Pardew if it happens.

Looking at it logically there are only two candidates possible from the ones being listed, either Jol or Pardew. Curbishley left WHU because he was being stepped on, ditto O'Neill at Villa.

Jol seems too coincidental, but again it might be too logical for this clown.

    Rep.

Anyway, Hughton's sacking is pure injustice. Top quality guy, did everything that was asked of him.

    Re: Down goes Hughton

Not to mention taking the job when offered only because absolutely no one else wanted it.

To be fair, the cracks in our tactics started to show when Calderwood left (just before the Sunderland match). To leave his contract running down for so long and not allow him to hire an assistant shows what little faith Ashley really had in him.

That or he wants to sell Carroll and Hughton stood up to him, one of the two.

    Shocked.

Any trust/momentum that Mike Ashley had quietly won back from the fans over the last 1.5 years has been flushed down the toilet.

Sorry if i offend any Newcastle fans but Mike Ashley is a disgrace.

As someone said, this move defies all logic.

Offend? Pfft, trust me we all know Mike Ashley is a disgrace, but frankly that's the nicest word you could use about a man who is devoid of any semblance of logic when it comes to running a football club.

Jose Enrique has already called the situation a "joke."

Jonas is being linked with Liverpool (hey, good news!)

But this is doomsday on tyneside if Pardew is indeed the man appointed.

    Re: Down goes Hughton

Anyone know where I left my "cockney mafia out" banner?

If it is Pardew then we can just give up... Ashley reverting to cronies again.
I assumed there'd be some sort of plan when they sacked Hughton, like appointing Jol would be a good move. This reminds me of sacking Robson and replacing him with Souness.

    Is Ashley a Mackem?

    Re: Down goes Hughton

Heh, no shock that Fat Freddy got behind Fat Ashley with this sacking. We know you fat ********s eat pies out of each other's assholes. FFS is so daft he can't even admit the mistake of selling the club to Ashley. He thinks if he maintains the ruse everything he did was mint then we will remember him that way too. What the ******** is it with these fat owners?

Russ, the city center must be awful at the moment. You work down there right?

You do wonder if Ashley has it in for us, but if he did surely we wouldn't have come straight back up. He could have done a lot more last year to ******** us over, but we actually got things right for a season and 1/3. I'm guessing this had to be about control. Chris had won over the support of all of us and the players. Ashley probably thought he had to get rid of Chris before he was too big. Too late, idiot.

I guess Ca$hley didn't get enough off the books for his liking the last time we were relegated so he wants to have another go.

    Re: Down goes Hughton

Not quite in the centre, but I am right next to the Tyne bridge.

I think the depressing thing is, it's nothing like when KK left, people almost expect this kind of bullshit now. Its more a continuing feeling of turmoil only occasionally punctuated by rare good news (like hammering the Mackems) these days... and this only feels like a slight exaggeration of how people have felt the last few years.

Not that there won't be boos for Ashley and support for CH at the weekend.... and the only people on my facebook who are happy are the few mackems I know.

    Re: Down goes Hughton

I'm being linked with Fulham right now. Let's see if my transfer goes through.

That fat cockney bastard has drained the life out of this club, the fans and supporters around the world. I can't imagine this appointment will be met with anything but open derision around the League and around England in general. It was quite telling that Ian Darke and Steve McManaman were " 'avin a larf " on ESPN at Ashley's expense on Monday.

How does this move add value to the club? Especially if he wants to sell? There are no sponsors to speak of, they broke with addidas after how many years? Fat joke he is.

I wonder if you all in England can do what the Redskins fans did to the owner, Dan Snyder here a couple of years ago? He tried to hire Jim Fassel as the coach and the negative press/media/call-in reaction by the fans actually had him rescinding the offer to Fassel. Of course the Redskins then wound up hiring a guy who had never been head coach before, so that plan backfired, but maybe, just maybe the FCB would listen to the reaction. It is not in the best interests of the club hiring a less qualified coach such as Pardew. Someone who is thought very poorly of around the League.

    Thx,

    Jay!

    This.

I knew Ashley was due for a mindblowing cock-up, he'd gone too long without one.
