I was kind of disappointed that some supporter question didn't ask about when MLS is going to force Vergara to move or re-brand Chivas USA. I would have loved to see Don bust out laughing.
I can't stand the interviewer's constantly twitching shoe. It would have been a nice gesture if Detroit was listed as a possible expansion city. And why was Sacramento omitted? The Don did not seem too enthusiastic about Miami.
People are going to make so much of that map. It was a mistake for MLS to post it. Or if they wanted a map, it should have had a dozen expansion candidates. In any event, to my eye the Sacramento bid looks better off currently than some of those fantasy cities on that map.
he covered the same topic last year... http://www.socceramerica.com/article/49363/mls-should-mandate-minutes-for-homegrown-players.html
sheesh, you'd almost think there was some sort of negotiation ... of a labor nature ... with the players, perhaps unionized ... on the horizon. hard to sell this typical sports ownership "oh woe is us we are losing money" line of crap given the recent Forbes publication.
Meanwhile the SUM board is partying like Chuck Blazer on acid. I found the comments to be completely insane and way more entertaining than the Garbercast. Portland is the new marketing poster boy. Let's all get used to it.
Atlanta cleared the last hurdle to build the new Falcons stadium. Building will start in April 2014 so you might hear an MLS announcement by the first of the year like Miami
I agree, for all we know MLS might be losing $0.02 this year. Which is probably the best possible outcome for the owners. I just can't believe that everyone and his brother is trying to dump 70 million dollars into a losing franchise.
