Don't think that muchos dominicanos are aware of that Anyway, later on today: DOM REP vs TRINIDAD y TOBAGO
a little out of topic, but DomRep "must" host the 2014 Caribbean Cup, "a lot" of haitian , puerto rican and jamaican gonna show in, also whatever is better that play in a criket stadium. The North Caribe is the only Caribe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Caribbean_island_countries_by_population but magicly the CFU is owned by the micronations. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Football_Union#Staff Or move to the same zone that USA-Can-Mex.
Outside opinion: you guys would have a better shot at moving to UNCAF. The DR already has political and economic ties to Central America (e.g. CAFTA-DR); UNCAF would be able to organize a more sensible Copa Centroamericana with eight teams rather than seven; and seeing how you've improved, they would no longer worry about DR potentially dragging down the level of football there. But yes, a Caribbean Cup in Hispaniola is long overdue, and I hope either Haiti or the DR gets it in 2014.

Our side's going to play a friendly against Oman four days earlier, so it's possible we'll use a more local team for this one. Maybe you'll finally get that first win...
...Congratulations, you guys finally beat us. Hopefully we'll run into each other in the Caribbean Cup (hopefully without any CFU skullduggery next time).
2 Dominicanos, or should I say Dominican Yorks , in USL PRO this season http://www.balompiedominicano.com/2014/03/jossimar-sanchez-prestado-al-rochester.html http://www.balompiedominicano.com/2014/03/rafael-diaz-ficha-con-orlando-city.html
I actually know Rafael: played at my HS (came in the year after I graduated). A goalie but a stud with the ball at his feet: played for the US U15s already iirc and has been very solid for St. John's the last couple of years. I dunno him personally but we have a lot of friends in common so come across each other every now and then.
Pro Soccer League in DR ? http://www.diariolibre.com/futbol/2...tbol-con-una-academia-equipo-profesional.html
So apparently FIFA's helping set up pro leagues on both sides of the island...man, things are going to get real good in a few years (especially if we end up facing each other in the World Cup).
Nothing just that I'm having a good time here. I observed and then asked the locals about their NT and many said that football is a far second behind baseball. The DR loves baseball éverybody talks about it constantly. Many even rated boxing ahead of football.. I met some Dominican supporters of the NT and they told me because the best athletes go into baseball and because of the small population they will be considered "minnows" even within the weak federation of CONCACAF. After watching some highlights of their team it will be difficult for them to qualify for a gold cup but qualifying for Caribbean cups and doing well is a possibility.
Actually, it is even worse, el futbol es way behind baseball, basketball, boxing, cockfights, Brugaldrinking and dominoes
