well, there was just a weeee bit of this to get the weekend started (I'm the guy in the photo): lots of these round things on girls: (these were what the beds in our suite looked like, this is the only pic in this post i took with my DSLR, the rest were all crappy point and shoots) (table service at Chateau Nightclub....this was our server) (this girl was dancing next to our table) some pole action in between clubs and....everything else we did: a second night full of this: (Pussycat Dolls at Gallery Nightclub) some of this: this: (DJ Skribble side of Gallery with girls dancing around these elevated bowl things) and these: (same thing as above, elevated bowl thing)
and of course the first half of days (aka 6 am, when we got back to our room, to 9:30ish am) were spent recovering...like this: while watching this: the roll down black out blinds in our room doubled as an 8 foot tall projector screen.
I guess it's a lie what they say about Vegas. Apparently, what happens in Vegas does not stay there--it stays on the Internet in Google Cache for your grandkids and potential employers to see. Congrats on a fun trip. I'm glad you've sobered up enough to rejoin us here.
Hence the reason I've made it impossible to find me on facebook....don't need any potential employers digging in my life (not to mention that it is technically illegal for them to do so). But yes, it's good to be back. Vegas is an extremely fun, but EXTREMELY expensive place to visit. Good for a once every few years type of vacation.
My brother lives in Vegas and I typically go there twice a year. The last two times I've been there I didn't even hit the strip, even though you can see it from my brothers porch. The whole idea of the strip just makes me sick nowadays. I'm an old 32, I guess. I bagged my trip to Yellowstone because the cabin I wanted is booked. Instead I'll be in Seattle all week. Going to the Sounders match this Saturday against Chivas. My wife and I will be representing RSL, of course. I'll post some pics during the week if I have some down time.
Okay, so I didn't post anything from my Seattle trip a month ago. I didn't take many photos to begin with, and a lot of them just aren't very spectacular. Went to a Sounders match, a few art museums, the Space Needle, Pike Place market, bars and restaurants, ferry's and this and that and stuff. I love that place. Was fiendin' for a bird fix, so last Sunday I went to Tracy Aviary and got some good shots. Most of them are through fencing which my lens was able to focus through brilliantly. Here are a few shots: Check out the slideshow Here
Very cool stuff, Boz, I loved this one: Feathery things by BozFotoz, on Flickr Makes me chuckle, kind of like the "Oh,Rly?" picture of that bird, only in a "why so serious" sense.
Thanks, UP! Nearly shot coffee out my nose while reading the "Oh, RLY?" seriousness comment. Looking forward to more pictures from your neck of the woods!
this is about all i got right now, went out to rockaway beach on the oregon coast for a friends birthday (his parents have a nice beach house out there that we rent for a weekend or two a year). this is LITERALLY the first time i have ever been to the coast and seen a nice sunset. it never fails that whenever i go it is either raining or overcast for the morning/evenings and i can never get good pics. of course since this was a weekend of debauchery/drinking i didn't bother bringing my nice dslr, didnt want to risk breaking it with a bunch of drunk idiots, so all i had was my iphone 4s. still, the photo came out pretty nice given the shitty camera quality: Rockaway Beach Sunset by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr i was SUPER pissed when we went out to the beach around midnight for a bonfire and i look up and see some of the most spectacular stars i've seen in a long time. my mind was racing with all the awesome shots i could have gotten with the beach, stars, nearly full moon (about an hour later as it rose over the coastal range hills) and the bonfire light. really banging my head for not taking my dslr/tripod setup. anyways, i got about a hundred photos on my camera i need to process, recently went on a trip to denver for a research conference and got some nice photos from there. plus some awesome sunrise photos from my apartment and a few of the full moon a few weeks ago. i'm super busy applying to grad schools right now so all my after work free time has been devoted to that, but hopefully i can get that wrapped up in a week or two and get back to photography.
Alright, finally got around to getting my pics from Denver processed, in the end not a whole lot of great shots due to my limited free time and the poor light I had to work with. Here's what I got: (a lot of these shots are actually layered shots, I was playing around with bracketing in order to maximize the colors of the sky, the light on the subject and the contrast) Denver Statue by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Denver Cowboy Statue by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Denver Indian Statue by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Denver Post Statue by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Denver Skyscraper Sunset Reflection by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Denver Hotel Monaco by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr
And this EPIC sunrise from a few weeks ago: Mt. Hood Sunrise 4 by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Mt. Hood Sunrise 3 by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Mt. Hood Sunrise 2 by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Mt. Hood Sunrise by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr Really wish those damn powerlines werent in the way.
I just realized that if you don't have a properly calibrated monitor these photos look dark and not very good (of course my work monitor is a total POS). Especially the sunrise photos which look freaking awesome on my laptop at home where I've gone to great pains to properly calibrate.
I know what you mean, but sometimes I don't mind them. Power lines are all over the place and hard to avoid. Sometimes they add a strange effect to a photo that I really like. Great shots!
So...not trying to get political at all here, but I had the chance to see Dr. Ron Paul speak today at a packed UCCU Event Center on Utah Valley University's campus in Orem. My lady and I had to venture south of the point of the mountain and into the Bubble, but we remained calm and under the radar in the diamond lane all the way to the amazingly accessible campus of UVU. I've never seen so many enthusiastic people, both you and old, gathered together to listen to an old guy who isn't even running for president anymore… A mile long line to get into the place to listen to a man who echoes the voice of our country's founding fathers. Anyway, here is a shot that I like: Champion of Liberty Slideshow Here
Without getting further political. His run this year was, IMO, designed to set up his son to run in 2016.
UP, I have a large amount of respect for you. Don't tread on me. This isn't the place for political or mainstream media rhetoric. If you want to talk about it, go ahead and PM me. Otherwise, peace.
No offense Boz, but you posted a picture of a politician within days of the national elections. What exactly did you expect? Especially when the picture you posted was of a polarizing guy like Paul and titled it "Champion of Liberty" UP could have worded it a bit less harsh, true.
This thread needs a little kick in the butt. Got out of the shower earlier this week, this monster sunrise was blasting through my apartments big windows. Hurried and got some pants and shirt on, grabbed my camera and snapped a couple shots. Unfortunately by the time I got out there, maybe 2 or 3 minutes at most, not much was left. Here's what I got: IMG_3211 by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr IMG_3210 by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr When I had gotten out of the shower the whole sky from just over Mt. Hood all the way up was bright red/orange. Just a thin stripe was left by the time I got out on the porch to take pictures.
My wife is the coolest ever! I received an early Xmas gift tonight in the form of a custom case for my iPhone from Case-mate. She says she found a wallpaper on the web and tweeked the colors some added this and that, antiqued it? I think it's a major bit of awesome!
Very nice! That's a much better looking case than the one they are selling at the Team Store. Props to your wife on the design.
I hate that crest but it still looks awesome. Major props to your wife on the design and making an awful crest look saaaawwwweeeeetttt
Just to bump the thread again a little, here is my contribution from my incredibly high quality cell phone (tongue in cheek). ...or with a little help from Photoshop, we can pretend it's a beautiful summer day, ready for a match...
