I know some peeps on here are into digital photography, I just got my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel t2i with a 50 mm f1.8 prime lens (decided not to go with the kit lens, wanted to learn the nuances of this camera/DSLR photography more). Been playing around with it, here are a few shots of a couple RSL scarves hanging on my wall: RSL Scarf by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr RSL Scarf Champs by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr RSL Scarf Crest by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr
we had an awesome sunset last night, first really good day of the year (high of 60!). PDXSunset by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr
The moon, Venus and Jupiter have been in conjunction for a while now and we are nearing the new moon. Last night we actually had clear enough skies in Portland to snag some pictures, it was awesome how clear you could see the entire moon even though it was just a sliver. The three made a near perfect isosceles triangle: MoonVenusJupiter by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr
I really like how the clouds mock the ridgeline beneath the sun kissed wisps. Keep 'em coming, man. Inspiring.
thanks guys! i ordered a new lens this week, a 55-250 telephoto, cant wait to try it out. i want to try and get some moon shots and maybe some star trails. it should be better for landscapes as well. anybody want to share their pics?

thanks for sharing, those HDR pics are intense, i like that last action shot. those L lens' take some amazing photos, wish i could afford nice glass like that lol.
Finally got my 55-250mm lens, havent had much time to use it and the weather has been crappy all week except the day i got it. It's supposed to be nice this weekend, so hopefully i can take it out and get some better pics with it. Here's the nice sunset we had on monday, managed to get a few shots of it with the new lens, i like the way the tree outline shifts to the outline of the buildings: 4.15.12 Pdx Sunset by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr also got some star shots, I'll post those up as soon as I can process the raw files.
i hate spiders, ugly little creatures. this one was about the size of a dime and was a real bitch to get in focus because of a slight breeze. Spider by PdXBenedetti, on Flickr
Amazing images from everyone! Here's a random shot from my collection: I've recently added a few photos on flickr if anyone is interested. I intend on adding many more so check it every now and again if you'd like. Boz Foto (thanks to UPinSLC for the inspiration)
thanks for sharing, i love the ones with the seal, those guys are so curious, and the sea lions which look like they just shared a good joke with each other. funny stuff.
