I think the club has made some good moves, but I don't think it's enough to consider us serious title challengers with BVB and Bayern. I hope I'm wrong and you're right, though!

My son just came back from Germany. Had a chance to go to last Saturday's game v. Wolfsburg. I may be able to post some video if there's interest.[IMG]

unfortunately it seems like the stable of leverkusen fans are no longer active here.

That's because the "stable of Leverkusen fans" was really just two or three. Fans of other clubs carried this thread for a long time.

Has anybody a clue whether Carjaval has any say in this contractual clause of Real Madrid to buy him back? He seems happy to play at Bayer Leverkusen from what I've read from him.

Needless to say that Real Madrid could have really needed him yesterday against Real Madrid. Ramos was severely missed in central defense.

Would be a pity to lose such a quality fullback so quickly from the Bundesliga.

Real could have used him against themselves??

I haven't heard anything about Real having interest in bringing Carvajal back.

I think the best chance of that happening is if Mourinho stays. If he goes, I think Real will forget about Carvajal.

    It was obviously a typo.

So you think Carvajal is without a chance against Arbeloa? I disagree. Mourinho was the one who sold him because he was not tall enough for his defense. He had Arbeloa in his plans to increase their defensive capacities at set pieces but another coach could have different values for his fullbacks.

I talked about the issue with a couple of Leverkusen fans in the meanwhile and they said that there are clear signals which could indicate Carvajal's departure. They fear he'll leave.

For one the player himself stated in April that he would return should Madrid ask him to.

For another Marca reported that there are serious plans in the Real Madrid managing department to bring back Carvajal for € 8m this summer.

I guess there's at least a very decent possibility of him leaving this summer.

Looks like you just wanted a debate. I said nothing about what chances Carvajal might or might not have at Real. That was all you.

And I am sorry, but I have better Spanish sources than "Marca." I only mentioned I had not heard anything and MY THOUGHTS on his situation.

Your thread again. I am sorry I could not guess you apparently wanted a debate, not discussion.

    *yawn*

I was interested in it at the time of my original posting and informed myself elsewhere in the meantime.

But good to know that your sources haven't heard anything about it. I hear you're having a good hit ratio recently. ;)

Holzhäuser resigns in his position as CEO of Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season and will be replaced by a Bayer corporate communications expert and former sports journalist Schade. Holzhäuser will stay in a position close to the club.

Meanwhile future planing for the next season is running smoothly. Bayer Leverkusen is close to signing Sokratis from Werder Bremen. Leverkusen is offering € 8.5m while Bremen wants € 10m. I guess it's only a matter of time until they reach an agreement.

Wollscheid, Sokratis and Toprak (Friedrich and Schwaab leave the club) are a very good CB lineup and could finally close the gap in Leverkusen's central defense. It took them long enough.

They are apparently also interested in signing St. Etienne's forward Aubameyang but they are skeptical about his price tag.

It's a bit disappointing should the € 16m claim of their bankrupt ex-sponsor Teldafax influence their behavior on the transfer market for the next season. They could need reinforcements to make a successful Champions League run.
