    Per Jill Loyden's twitter:

Does this sound like she joined the team to anyone else? If so, guessing this is a move because Hope Solo isn't expected to come back this season.

Why? Doesn't mean she won't beat out KK. I'm guessing it will be Brett Maron that loses her job and gets the ax. I'd feel sorry for her first.

Well, at least Rasmussen is free. She's very talented and (imo) wasn't utilized to her full abilities.

what is up with hope solo? wrist or not, she could be on the sideline like kelly smith and others supporting the league in the home stretch. not cool at all. magicjack on the road to philly and wny is gold. they are probably guaranteed 10k if magicjack goes to philly.

Solo is too busy selling Solo.

I've said it before. I would not be at all surprised if Solo doesn't show for another WPS game. All depends on how long she can keep the off field opportunities coming.

I believe this as well. Wonder what she's going to do when(if) those opportunities dry up?

That is what Hope wants everyone to think. The truth is that when Hope was with Magic she was treated like a queen by Dan. She is holding out for more money. Hope feels she is the big draw and she wants more money from Dan. The team that was left after the Nat's went to the WC, deserve more money. These young ladies stood up and fought for better treatment while our stars where away. The team is doing just fine without Hope. It's funny how she can drive a race car,but CAN'T or WON'T sign autographs for WPS. Hope is on a bigger stage now, she seems to have forgotten her WPS fans. Hope can heal whatever injury she claims in Palm Beach with her team. It's her decision.

The only player on the U.S. women's team that I didn't feel that bad for (when they lost to Japan in the World Cup Final), is Hope Solo.

She is the "least" team player on that roster.
As a role model citizen (off the field), she can't carry Briana Scurry's jock strap. Scurry was more of a role model, and team player.

Hope Solo is also the closest to a racist on the team.
And she defends it by trying to accuse others of racism.

She's a good goalkeeper on the field, but is a sub-par human being off the field.
Simply put, she's a much better player than she is a person.

Just curious... What makes you say this? I've seen numerous accusations, both baseless and deserved, made against Solo. I've never seen any evidence or other accusations of her being a racist.

Edit: Apologies for the thread hijack.

Just shows the Difference in Character between Hope" Show me the Money" Solo and to hell with the WPS,the fans and her team-mates as opposed to Abby" who should not be playing with the injury she has" Wambach who supports and cares for her team-mates, Fans and the WPS league. You can guess which player I respect and hope that she does not jeopardise her career by playing with the Achilles injury.Wish she would cheer Team on from sidelines and support the team by signing autographs.

You people are silly. There could be many reasons Solo is not in Florida right now, and they don’t all have to do with her being a narcissistic b#%*#.

For one, her shoulder probably really is busted. She didn’t look 100% at the world cup, and I doubt she is after. If she wants to play in the Olys next year, she better follow through with physiotherapy and stay off of it. I have no reason to believe that a team that can’t staff a front office or host a proper website can provide medical care for such an injury.

Not saying that Wambach should be playing, but she hasn’t seemed to do anything necessitating surgery just yet. Maybe she’s too stubborn not to play, idk. It will be interesting to see if she benches herself the next couple of games, given that mJ has all but clinched a playoff spot. I too would hate to see her go down with a (potentially career-ending, at her age) injury to play in some relatively meaningless games.

That said, other reasons Solo’s staying away:
    - She’s burnt out, and wants to chill with her family.
    - She hates MagicjackA$$ Borislow just as much as the rest of us, and refuses to have anything to do with him. Perhaps she doesn’t need that money as much as the others do….
    - She wants her buddy Jill Loyden to get more playing time, especially considering her nominal USWNT backup is getting none thus far in Philly.

As for the publicity, her agent is getting her deals wherever he can find them. He’d be a crappy agent otherwise, and she’d be a dumba$$ not to take the opportunities. Professional athletes have short careers and need to make it however they can. Also, who’s to say that making publicity appearances that reach thousands of people in one shot is not as meaningful for womens soccer in the US as is signing autographs for a couple thousand people in Boca Raton. Despite her not being present there, she does seem to be replying to her fans on Twitter. Some evil person has finally taught her how to use it, though she’s still to learn about proper spelling or punctuation.

The point of this rant is that I think it’s silly for you all to have such clear ideas about what her priorities are based on what little knowledge you have. There are a lot of possible reasons she’s not in Florida.

eta, hopefully without being too off-topic: I'm also p#**#d that WPS hasn't gotten much mention in these appearances. But somehow all four players on the Maddow show, Wambach, and Morgan have failed to mention it as well. Not sure why, as US Soccer seems to be promoting WPS (at least on their twitter). But that problem has been relatively constant for all USWNT players "appearances" post-WWC.

And Hope's twitter has been very pro magicjack players, which is nice gesture considering her otherwise ruthless absence from all WPS appearances since the WWC.

Your post is on track, in my opinion, except for the Barnhart comment. Since the world cup players returned, Barnhart is 2-0 with 2 shutouts in 2 appearances, at Boston Breakers and vs. The Atlanta Beaters. She has missed only one game while with the team, at NJ her first week back, but after Philly lost that game, Barnhart was reinserted into the regular line-up.
