Been better than Messi for the most part of last year and now has increased the distance to stand undeniably high above Messi. Right now its Ronaldo than a long pause and Messi and Suarez vying for second.
The question is whether that should be taken into account in the election of the best player. Besides, I think people are stuck to that first bad image of him, regardless of what he does. I haven't seen recently anything particularly bad regarding Ronaldo's image. Arrogance may not be likeable, but that's not a crime, unlike other players that really gave bad examples, such as being involved in scandals. On the contrary, Ronaldo is the perfect example of what a professional should be in terms of dedication to his job. I don't see many people valuing that.

After Messi winning 4 in a row, it was hard for some people to accept Ronaldo winning despite the stats. This year, Ronaldo is ahead but the World cup will probably dictate who wins it.
