I just got an invoice by e-mail saying my season tickets had been renewed. Except that I haven't even thought about renewing them yet.

Uh...anyone else have this problem or can shed any light on this situation?

I got the same saying Invoice/Receipt with a customer # and saying a balance of $710.00 due. I don't think that they have billed my Credit Card but, if they have I will go Ballistic as I am not yet ready to renew and this sort of " ? reminder " is not appreciated.

I got an invoice too. However, the last newsletter said this:

Be on the lookout for your 2011 Season Seat renewal invoice. This is not a bill. This is your opportunity to keep the same seats you enjoyed during the 2010 season or to upgrade to a more favorable location.

Yeah, that certainly was not the best way to go about the renewal offer process. Misleading at best.

Just so everyone knows, we sent out emails and made calls a few weeks ago. Then, we used our newsletter to let people know that the renewal invoices were coming. Unfortunately for us, apparently some of you did not get the newsletter (might have gone into your spam box). We sent out the invoices (just like all teams do) and are following those up with another round of calls and emails. I am sorry if anyone was inconvenienced. I promise you that we would NEVER charge someone's card withour their authorization. As always, feel free to call your ticket rep or call me directly at 678.298.4713 to discuss anything or to ask any questions.

I have read many posts from Atlanta fans over the months about your views on the coaching change. What will make you renew and what will not?? Is it the coaching moves? Players? or lack of excitement in the team??

It's been my experience that fans are waiting on player news. To me, it doesn't matter who is on the field...we're going to get world-class players no matter what because the pool is very large. You might not get a Marta, an Abby, etc. Does that really matter if you're a "fan"?

So nine if your team comes in last place again it doesn't matter?

I can't speak for nine, of course, but as far as I am concerned, I want to see good soccer and a team that puts up a fight even when things aren't going well. If they came in last despite that, I would still support the team.

No. I am a sports fan, first and foremost. I don't care who's on the pitch, who's on the ice, who's on the court, or who's on the golf course. I don't know a lot of athletes by name in other sports but it doesn't prevent me from watching or supporting the sport.

Do I want a winning team? Sure, who doesn't? But it still doesn't keep me from buying tickets. If I don't want to watch the SPORT, I won't..the players are not important to me unless they obviously suck, and therefore, shouldn't even be in a professional atmosphere to beginwith.

At this level yes the players matter. I am paying for parking-food and a ticket. If I want to watch the sport just for the sport I can go watch high school for far less money. The expectation level is much higher for the organization to put the best they can on the field. Why would any one reward an organization with their hard earned money for a sub par product. I have never heard any one say the players don't matter at the pro level/

Are you paying for tickets, parking, and food at WPS games? Because it seems you're back to just stirring the pot in several sub-forums here. Little constructive chat & mostly just slagging off on WPS. What's the deal, dude?

Perhaps ATL fans who have (and will in the future) bought tickets because they believe in the product of professional women's soccer and the ATL team is the one in their area. To take the devil's advocate slot for a moment, in every pro league there will be a team in last place. Guess what, fans still buy tickets to that team's games.

There are still a number of quality free agents available for ATL to sign. And we've all pretty much assumed Carli Lloyd is going to sign with the team.

The questions are simple not complex. Kool if you go back and look ay my initial question " I have read many posts from Atlanta fans over the months about your views on the coaching change. What will make you renew and what will not?? Is it the coaching moves? Players? or lack of excitement in the team??

You can see it was a very simple ? Stir what up? Read their posts and you can see why I asked!

Now Nine said players do not matter and I questioned that..Not going to repeat my post but it was another simple response. Your response to my players matter talks about a team in last place??? that has nothing to do with what you have me quoted on..?

If this ruffles feathers stay out of sports bars.

I didn't quote your first post for a reason. The "what will it take to renew" is a reasonable question. And the ticket reps & FO personnel should be asking fans that question.

katndogs & nine both indicated that they'd buy tickets for reasons that did not include specific players. Two ATL ticket purchasers answered your (legit) question. But you didn't like their answers. So you then countered with "players matter" and "I have never heard any one say the players don't matter at the pro level." Well, guess what? You just did.

My post about pro teams w/ bad records fits with what you originally asked and what katndogs answered. You followed up their answers w/ a does it matter if they're in last place question. So, yeah, my post did have something to do with the conversation at hand.

Honestly, we renewed our tix as soon as it was possible, but I'm really starting to wonder if we should have - I'm becoming increasingly concerned.
Chups and Ras aren't chopped liver - they're two of my very favorite players, but management has got to give us fans something more - SOON.
Shedding salary is fine if there's some kind of plan in place, but for everyone we're watching walk out the door, there's no one coming in to balance the loss, and the "trade-off" just doesn't seem to balance out.
How are we supposed to build a fan base/fan loyalty/get season ticket holders to renew if we don't get some movement?
I hope they actually do have a plan...

While I would not have traded Heath, I will say that there are still a bunch of quality FAs out there. And from the start I figured most player signings would happen after the New Year. Look at the list of folks still available. I think only 2 teams have > 11 players signed (Boston & SBFC; with WNY getting close). That doesn't help fans get excited nor does it sell tix, of course.

Got a plan and heck of a lot of interest from some very solid players. I think you will be impressed when it is all said and done...but that is not for me to decide. We will be making some announcments soon and are close on several other players as well. Stay tuned.

I answered your question honestly and quite simply. I'm sorry it was too much for your little brain to digest.

You're giving me an awful lot of attention, luver. <3 Smooches to you too, sweety.

I guess I need to say this again: I don't care who's on the pitch. There is a large FA pool to choose from and I'm not worried because I know that all those players are world class or are capable of world class play.

When the team was announced in summer of 2008, I was ecstatic to say the least. Was the "Beat" team name created yet? The logo? Forget about a coach or player announcement. I DIDN'T CARE...Atlanta was getting womens pro soccer and that's all that mattered to me.

Last year this time...we still had no coach, the Beat name was just announced and the stadium location was only announced beginning of December. Tobin wasn't even drafted till January...we had no idea what our team would look like, but that didn't matter then either.

Now I'm in a position on the inside looking out to the fans. And I again, don't get it. We're in the same position we were in last year and people (fans) are freaking out. Why? Again I say, TO ME, it doesn't matter who's on the pitch, knowing what kind of pool we have to choose from and knowing that there's still plenty of time, expecting that most will be signed Jan/Feb. Is it an American mentality that everything needs to happen instantly? Be patient!
