thats fair. He does things wrong, but he clearly isnt shit. Not even close, and I was not suggesting that.

nah, im good in not saying Hart is great until he shows otherwise.

Didn't mean to start a riot. I haven't seen enough of Butland to see anything special about him, though. I once read that he was the "next Seaman", which seemed pretty ridiculous for someone who (at that time) had yet to play a senior match.

As well you should. That we didn't pull the trigger for Mata was atrocious - we could have beaten Chelsea to him.

And the window is open. Can't wait for a month from now when we can all sulk in our disappointment that they signed nobody. This is Arsenal.

I don't know. It'll be fun to see how the 17 year old Maltese goalkeeper we buy develops.

Hopefully he gets signed in the last hour on deadline day, I need the adrenaline rush.

Joe hart, even with his rec nth gaffes is quality. Rutland is a big talent and foster is also good. Ruddy is another solid keeper. Anymore b.s. anti? English kids are getting better but I haven't said we are world class or have many world class players but we do have some technically excellent youngsters coming through

Rutland may be big but how do we know he's talented? Because Stuart Pearce picks him? He's already conceded nearly 40 goals this season, and Birmingham have gone from near the top of the Championship to hovering over the relegation zone. Obviously a great keeper right?

I don't know: Brazil is pretty damned good. As is Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Columbia, etc. So, even if the United States will always be shit, America probably won't be. ;)

he's 19, playing in a very tough league for a team that have over 10 players in the twilight of their careers. that team needs a major rebuild. (birmingham, in 20th, are only 8 points off 7th)
we bought jenkinson from a league 1 side that had lost 8 of only 9 games an 18yo jenkinson played in.
btw. re:ben foster being shit. his stats this season and last are also very similar to tim howard at the same age. that means howard is shit too, right?

ps. i really don't know about butland either way. i haven't seen him enough. i doubt many on here have.

Howard is an interesting case. I remember when he went to United and most people I talked to were a bit shocked. Nevermind the fact he started most of the 2003/04 season.

He isn't a top 4 keeper, but can do well at teams like Everton. Whenever I hear about American players coming to the Prem, I want it to be for midtable clubs so they can at least get playing time. Which is one reason when the fan boys(and girls) from Yanks Abroad, the US forum come on here saying we should sign players like Dempsey, I laugh.

At the same age? Foster is almost 30. Stop acting like he is a young up and comer.

that's pretty much every window (summer and january) for us, though. double the number of names if we struggle leading up to said window.

Dempsey would be pretty useful on this team actually. He's grown into being a first choice starter for S*rs when healthy, certainly a good option off the bench-better than Gervinho or Ramsey. Not my first choice, but at the price he was at, would have been a good squad addition.

Wenger said that Thierry is not re-signing for Arsenal in January after the match.

I guess that's a good thing. I mean if he signed him chances are we wouldn't sign a striker. I mean I still have my doubts but that means he's probably really in the market for someone.
