Boateng was better than Dante before his injury. And his brainfarts this season have been on 2-3 occasions, which Dante himself has also had.

Boateng had only one brainfart this season - the red card against Bate and that it. Another "mistake" is the penalty against Gladbach. But i agree DVB is in form too

Did you miss the two uncontested bad passes against Werder Bremen? That's what I call a brain fart.

Van Buyten was in form against Arsenal. At the very least it's not that clear a decision.

Van Buyten is just far too slow IMO and should never be a realistic starter option for Bayern ever again, and I thought this a few years back. Esp with Dortmund's quick counter attacking, it's even more dangerous to start him. We will see what Jupp does though.

I would totally start Boateng, but even if Buyten plays i think we are gonna be okay and not concede more than one goal. If Buyten plays we are gonna be dangerous on the corners. Martinez, Dante, Muller, Mandzukic, Schweini and Buyten all can score with their head. :)

please DVB has many wrong passes that ended up directly in the opponent's midfielders feet just in the last couple of BL games.

Plus Boateng had played just two games in the last two months.

I dunno but i'd rather have Boateng than DVB in the latter stages of the CL. With DVB in CL i always fear that he will make a mistake or someone or someone will do the same thing Millito,Holtby and others did to him

Yeah and Drogba totally raped Boateng on that corner

what about DVB vs Millito falling for the easiest trick in the world?I have seen him falling for that trick several times. DVB works good in team defence but i fear for a 1 on 1 against some good team with good players

Maybe we should just sell him or send him down to FCBII.

Its crazy you guys would put DvB against a fast countering team like BvB (see what i did there :D ).

Its not like DvB hasn't had his moments in the past, fcuk even Neuer has done his fiar share, and that shit leads to goals.

His played well as a deputy but theres a reason why he a deputy to begin with.

Let not even bring up the coolness factor of having Boateng and Dante playing at the back.

Ok that sounded gay, scratch that.

You mean the scene when Milito was uncontested by our invisible CM and had a free run towards Daniel van Buyten, his kwown weakness, while Demichelis got that totally stupid early yellow and couldn't challenge Milito appropriately afterwards?

It was a CL final, I get it, at the end of the day I'm still convinced that we lost in 2010 because we were the worse team and not because of a single player's mistake.

I'm not saying that I'm against Boateng in the starting lineup but the initial issue was how clear a decision it would supposedly be. That's not the case in my opinion. Anyway I trust Jupp Heynckes to make the right decision.

LOL ... People don't forgive Boateng but forgive Buyten who almost single-handedly gave the title to Inter in 2010 ...

    Makes sense ...

The hate for DVB is completely over the top but sometimes it is understandable, the man is just slow as dirt. The hate for Boateng, on the other hand, is just ridiculous.

It's a push for me. With DvB you are banking that his experience and judgment will make up for his lack of pace and that Dante will cover for him in a fast counter where he's isolated 1-v-1. With Boateng you are banking that his pace and athleticism will make up for his lesser experience and questionable judgment in challenges and that Dante will cover for him in a fast counter where he has to worry about more than 1-v-1.

Either way, thank goodness for Dante.

DvB played really well against Arsenal but I hope that Boateng starts. Borussia Dortmund's players are simply too fast and I just personally don't trust DvB to hold it up that well again.

Well I wouldn't call Walcott,Cazorla, Wilshere, Podolski and Co. "slow". Defensive pace is overrated,it's all about positioning. That's why you see CB's playing well until their mid-late thirties

It is a family here and has been so for many years. Of course we have the mom and pops, the black sheep that support other clubs, the prodigy kids that know it all, the cocky buffoons that think they know it all and, of course, the idiot kids that run around talking shit with chocolate pudding all over their mouths while sitting on a wet diaper...

Oh, I don't think they're slow at all, completely the opposite. I'm just worried that its one of those "Well, he played well last time so he'll play well again the next time" kinda things which always bites you in the butt (I realize that works both ways, its just a personal feeling)

Shit, the post-game interviews after the Cup final were hilarious.

Lahm: "Looking at the full 90 minutes, I think we were the better team."

Schweinsteiger: "I thought we were better than Dortmund."

Heynckes: "Even though we lost 5-2, I gotta say we played outstanding football in the first half."

I don't think I've ever heard Heynckes criticise the team. Thank god we've got Sammer for that

To be fair, Dortmund created 5 goals from 5 chances in that game

I try to keep that in perspective by remembering that this was 12 May and the team had another final to get up for on 19 May. Admitting that you were handily beaten by a domestic rival that also ran away with the league is not very confidence inspiring for a looming CL final. In that sense I understand their denial.

Considering how many times we heard that last season, however, I'm not at all surprised that the team underperformed and played as if they did not need any urgency in the CL final.

Has anyone heard that excuse from the team yet this season? I'm hoping they've learned their lesson, but it could just be that they have lost so few matches that they've just not had to confront this character flaw as of yet.
