I think 80% of this team is suited to Pep's philosophy and the rest kind of don't. We see this in build up. I think the way Robben and Ribery have been cultivated they provided a problem for Pep. They aren't Pep wingers but they are so crucial to this team. And at this point it's difficult to argue that they shouldn't be played. Pep wanted a balance but so far it just hasn't functioned accordingly. Maybe more time is needed and the two can adjust. Also Mandzukic is not exactly type of striker Pep would like as starter. Until they are marginalized I don't think we will truly see Pep's vision take a more complete turn. So this team is still very much showing some identity issues but I think evolving this team into more than just a linear attacking 4-2-3-1 is the right approach.
