i have no idea where their financial support comes from. i ask myself that all the time. Chiriboga's probably sliding money to his Chiquito. Too bad Castillo's gonna have to suffer now and probably have to file a lawsuit against those fools when they start to stall their payments. That's what he gets for choosing them.

This is great! I am just so happy Liga didn't invest in this low level player. In my opnion, even more overrated than Marlon Ayoi! Piece of trash joins the team perfect for him. Stay FAR from Liga and Ecuador if you know whats good for you.

Everytime that a big name is rumored, there's always mystery money that pops up from a phantom consortium or corporation that has somehow facilitated the acquisition of funds- and all of which takes place while the rest of the roster is a month or two backed up on payments. Things just don't seem/smell right.

count them out, i saw the game. d.quito is ridiculously awful. they play so damn calm like their winning everytime they're either losing or tied at home.

San Martin makes it to the next round.

Where is God's name is Dep. Quito getting all this money? My god, they are spending! They do need a really good goalkeeper. Ibarra should go out with honors and retire. "Ibarranadas"...LOL

I seriously have no clue how that team can afford anybody. Year in and year out they manage to not pay their players for one or two months, almost get banned from playing, and then mysteriously get back on their feet for the short-run before running into money problems again. What is going on

Adrian Bone, Klimowicz, Mj Quinonez, Santiago Morales, Maxi Bevacqua, Martin Mandra, Mariano Mina, Gustavo Rodas, and Luis Perea...

wtf how the hell did they get enough funds for this??? a couple seasons back They couldn't pay Mandra himself and he was pissed. Such a sketch team. I'm surprised the ecuadorian media never mentions it.

And it looks like it's confirmed that Marco Nazareno is being loaned put to San Luis

    Wouldn't this be a surprise?

Its so interesting how dep. quito, keeps bringing good players to their team when just a few months ago they were so screwed up economically that they could'nt even pay their players, now all of a sudden they bring in the best experienced gk and the best young propect GK. also they bring in quality strikers like Bevaqua, the top scorer of the peruvian league(some colombian prospect). They hold on to Zlatan Fernandez, and they even buy the best mf from el nacional MJ Quinonez. also they are now sponsored by Pepsi and Blackberry which is really weird since big companies like those wouldn't gamble with a team like dep. chiquito who only have 3 national cups.

el otro dia escuche que equipos bound to copa liberta. usually get investors to dish money and help.....Copa is such a BIG window to sell players to argentina and mexico, that is a good investment (5 months return on your moola?!!)

    Re: Deportivo Quito

If sh*t goes through for the chiquitos they can make bank off those investments (God knows how the hell they came up with all that money). But look at it like this: Jose Carlos Ferandnez has offers from European clubs since a few months back. By the time Copa America hits imagine the number of offers that are gonna be thrown at Deportivo Quito for their players who will have had a Copa America and Copa Libertadores experience. Their entire midifeld w/ Juan Carlos Paredes, Saritama, MJ Quinonez, Fidel Martinez, Segundo Castillo- all those guys price tags will rise especially if they do well in Copa America. If el Paton Bauza had all those guys in his midfield, I'd bet money right now with anyone that the Copa Libertadores would be in our trophy case by this summer. But i doubt Fabian Bustos will know what to do with them. so collectively, im not worried about them at all. We'll still squash them like ants this year. But based on individual talent, D.quito can make money off those guys in 6 months to a year.

    Re: Deportivo Quito

I think they have some sort of ghost donor that bails them out everytime they're in a bind. Otherwise, it literally makes no sense. Of all the big teams in Quito, D. Quito is the smallest market and probably has the smallest fan base (I've seen games where they struggle to get 5,000 people into the preferencia of the Atahualpa) and yet they still get big sponsors. That being said, D. Quito has little to no track record in the CL and for them, it's a big boost to play higher profile games to attract a little more money. Eventually the team will fall back on the financial insolvency that has plagued them for a while now. It's simply unsustainable....

a few weeks into 2011 we'll hear the same story as always. And then somehow later in the year they attempt to pick themselves up and show up in the top 5 spots... outta nowhere
