from International Depor Website Does anyone know how to join these offical fanclubs or has anyone even heard of these offical fanclubs? Even if Depor does play in the US, it probably will be with their "C" team this season. -- In other news Jorge Andrade said he'd like to finish his career at Depor. So a move to Manchester United may not occur. -- Finally 3 Depor players were announced to the Spanish squad for Euro 2004. Their number of caps in parenthesis. Juan Carlos Valerón (38) Albert Luque (5) César Martín (12)
I'd like to thank Xoán from the International Depor Website for this information. He's a moderator there and on the site team.
Third Place!!!!!!! Our victory today combined with a Real Madrid loss gives us third place in la liga. Not that 3rd place accomplishes too much but it's nice to finish ahead of Madrid. Match Stats later.
0-1 Racing - Depor MATCH STATISTICS Racing: Dudu Aouate - Cristian Alvarez, Pablo Casar (32 Moratón), Neru, Ayoze - Afek (88 Raúl), Matabuena, Diego Mateo, Benayoun - Jonathan Valle (65 Morán), Javi Guerrero Deportivo: Munúa (83 Songo'o) - Capdevila, Jorge Andrade, Pablo Amo, Héctor - Amavisca (75 Iván Pérez), Sergio, Fran, Munitis, Valerón (60 Manuel Pablo) - Pandiani Goals: 22' Pandiani 0-1 Referee: Tristante Oliva Attendance: 13,906 (El Sardinero) -- from International Depor Website More good news as we can say "Good-bye Celta Vigo!!!!!!!!"
Link Happy Trails Djalminha. His contract was terminated by Deportivo. Kind of sad if you ask, me he still had another year left on his contract. Although he didn't play much this year, when he got on the pitch he contributed. I wish he would have stuck around to play as Valeron's backup, although Fran can do a decent job too. In his termination, he can't go to another Spanish club. I don't understand, why we didn't just sell him, but oh well.
from International Depor Website www.deportivo-la-coruna.com Looks like we're actually trying to do something this offseason. Diego Tristan might have to be sold if we want to bring in Raúl Tamudo though.
More housekeeping news: from www.deportivo-la-coruna.com One name you didn't see up there is Juan Carlos Valeron, who is not going anywhere, unless his buyout clause is met And apparently our beloved President Lendoiro is asking more money for Luque than Bayern for Ballack. We want € 2 million for Luque, but Barcelona is only offering €12 million.
Link Naybet pledges that he wants to stay for Depor, unfortunately it's only for one more year. He wants to finish his career in Qatar, so why not sell him there and get some money off him? Also Joan Capdevila has been called up for the Spanish Euro 2004 squad. That gives us 4 players playing for Spain!
from The International Depor Website Good news for all us Depor supporters. Although I doubt any of those three will play for us next season, they will all be loaned out to other la liga clubs so they can gain experience at a higher level.
Deportivo are showing interest in D'Alessandro again. http://skysports.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=209370&cpid=
Interesting story, but I doubt we'll spend €10 million on anybody. Especially since he'll probably sit behing Valeron. It seems like we're interested in a lot of people, but when it comes down to money we don't do anything although there are two players from Portugal, who may come, but again it comes down to if we'll pay the money.
I think we have out two first offical signings of the summer Rubén and Momo from Las Palmas. Both are too young for us, so I'm guessing both will be loaned out for the season.
Not much goes on here. We actually have less Depor supporters than we do Feyenoord supporters. You can call me a glory hunter for supporting Depor, because in a way I am. I didn't start supporting them until this season, so I have no where near the knowledge about them as Nutmeg, and the few other Depor supporters here, but I am learning. I fell in love with them after watching them play in the Champions League two years ago, specifically against Manchester United. In what was a meaningless match for Depor and ManU, Depor played their hearts out. The fans were great too, singing away supporting their club. It just looked like it was a fun time at la Riazor. Of course Albert Luque stole the show, with a great preformance, so he became one of my favorites. I do my best to scare you panic.
Those pictures always scare me. Glory hunter! Nutmeg's a cool dude. Barcelona is probably more natural for me, the rebellious side of me.
Momo and Ruben Castro offical have signed with us. Ruben Castro until 2011 and Momo until 2009. Most likely they will be loaned out as we are using the two of them as bargaining chips for transfers. What does everyone think about Luque to Barca for cash and Saviola? The Maniche rumor won't go away, but we dont' seem to have the money for him or anybody else, unless we sell Luque .
Question: Should I start a new Depor thread for next season or should we keep using this one? (I'm hoping a few people will answer).
Yeah keep this one open, it seems to be pretty "historic"! Too bad there isnt a Deportivo forum. Any word on next season's kit?
Does anybody have any more info on the project to modernize the Riazor? It looks pretty cool...I wonder how long it would take to finish. http://www.canaldeportivo.com/servlet/es.iris.servlets.Noticias?accion=4&ver=1&nid=6403&mid=8
