Agreed. Didn't look like there were more than 20K in attendance on TV. Color me surprised that the Mexican fans didn't come out in bigger numbers, but the ticket prices probably played a big part in that.
After game want out to Mexican place downtown with a group of work friends from queretaro and their families. We ran into 6-7 guys from Mexico's side there and got a ton of pictures (for their safety I'm not in any of them). Friendly guys just like rapid players i have run into off the field. Best was getting our plant mgrs pic wearing a Cruz azure shirt with 2 of Mexico roster players from club America (America beat them for liga MX championship).
How was this attendance number calculated? I suspect the total paid attendance was doubled (i.e. 12,500 paid) as there were 2 matches offered . Is that correct? What was the total paid attendance for the day?
1 ticket got you both games, but attendance is usually tickets sold (or possibly distributed) not tickets used.
I understand "usually", what I do not get is 25,000 attendees for 18,086 seats. Only slight of hand makes this calculation work! I suspect that 12,500 tickets were sold but since the ticket provided admittance for both games the real attendance figure was doubled to 25,000.
