that's what I am saying: Parker is destroying Dembo, Defoe is destroying clint, Bale is destroying continuity. It's maddening! Parker freelances, but sucks at it. Dembo far better. Defoe makes the wrong runs, never combines play with other attackers and Bale beats five guys and explosion shot to nothing. It is frustrating.
I have been listening and they call Dembele, Lukaku, and Vertonghen by their nationalities too. Bale, if anything, gets called 'the Welshman" way more frequently than Dempsey gets called "the American". You even occasionally hear somebody referred to as "the England player". The only person who seems to be calling Dempsey "the American" with intent is Rob Stone, who's doing to be funny. ( And I thnk it is funny when he does it.) I really don't think there's any disparagement going on at all. It just is more reasonable to designate people in that way in a mulitnational environment.
The 3 points is still up for grabs, for either team. Even if Spurs win this performance doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Dempsey as the lone forward is not going to cut it.
He's got that quacky sort of timbre that John Lennon had in his speaking voice. (I say that as a huge Lennon fan, don't get me wrong.)
I feel ridiculous talking about someone spitting but does anyone else feel iffy on giving a red for that? If he spits on him, it makes sense but he didnt. He could have just needed to spit & was looking at Walker & its pretty difficult to judge intent on "spit"...
Walker is English and Popov is Macedonian - I don't think the media will be all that troubled by the red.
He's a big boy. It's a genetic anomoly to be able to carry that much muscle while in season. Most of these guys have to have serious trouble keeping muscle on.
[from lotg] If you spit in the direction of another opponent, it's an automatic red. Notice that the language says "spiting at an opponent" rather than "spitting on and opponent"
