Friedel slated to start per AVB. Dempsey is also in the squad. Tottenham advance with a draw, but would need both a win and a Lazio loss to Maribor to top the group. Some reports indicate Dempsey may be given be a rest and begin the match on the bench.

Spurs are really getting hit hard by injuries. Sigurdson may start, but I think AVB will have to use both him and Dempsey for this match.

This is a good one for Siggurdson to start and Dempsey to rest. But who takes Bale's place out on the wing ? I'm guessing Dempsey (or Siggy with Dempsey as AM/2nd striker) if AvB is actually worried about losing this game. Adebayor probably gets a start over Defoe.

Looks like Dempsey's starting on the left with two genuine strikers ahead of him. Will be interesting to see how he does considering that this is pretty close to the formation he played in at Fulham.

Has any Premier League winger played as much as Aaron Lennon has this season? He has started every league game (15) and played in every Europa League match (w/ 5 starts including this one, and one appearance off the bench). That is a great deal of high intensity minutes for a club tied for 3rd in the EPL and on the verge of advancing in the EL.

I think it's a 4-4-2. Carroll and Sandro holding, Dempsey and Lennon on the wings, and Adebayor and Defoe up front.

White Hart Lane seems to offer either a very high camera angle or a very low one like in this match. I think I prefer the high one.

Yes, he is! Does anyone else get the impression that he and Defoe dislike each other?

Announcer just said that Bedoya scored for Helsenborg.

Me, too. He seems to automatically pass backwards w/ the USMNT.

Another assist for Dempsey, well done playing the ball through to Adebayor to beat the offside trap

I said it as of last week: dudes need to get their Dempsey Chubby's on assists instead of goals this year. If only he could service himself...

His pent up scoring rage will have to wait for USMNT.

    Dempsey's becoming an assist machine.

Commentators just said Dempsey's been as bright as anyone on the field this half.

Dempsey is making some great runs into space, if Ade or Defoe had any give-and-go in them he'd been in on goal more than once.

Deuce looks so much more comfortable in the left midfield role. Allows him to find more space and sneak in the box for crosses. Obviously he's not going to get chances there unless Bale is out like today.

Adebayor definitely does have give-and-go in him. Him and Deuce should be a great tandem on paper.
