Halftime: Heavy pressure towards the end from Everton. Very exciting match, but you get the feeling that a game-winner will be coming from a set piece or absolute gaffe. Dembele and Dempsey are quite active for Tottenham. Adebayor and Defoe are struggling to stay involved during periods. Howard had one pretty bad pass which resulted in a free kick outside the area. Other than that, Howard has been watching and waiting.

I also don't think Dempsey will be a 90 minute player on the left flank. Coleman has been having a track meet on that flank. I love Dempsey, but he looks vulnerable to that pace and I seriously doubt he can do that kind of covering for a full 90. So, they could remove Defoe or Adebayor, then move Dempsey up top. Or they could remove Dempsey entirely, but considering how active he has been in attack I'm not sure AVB will without a game winner.

Adebayor had a bunch of bad first touches this half, which is uncharacteristic for the big guy.

I thought Dempsey had a decent half, especially given the obvious Moyes strategy of constantly attacking his side. Dempsey isn't that speedy for a winger, and he likes to tuck inside, which opens up space on the flank, but when he's in position he's a surprisingly good man on man defender. He completely shut Coleman down a couple times...

Tottenham will be lucky to get points from this game. They are getting out worked, especially on Dempsey's side. Everton are working him pretty hard and with only two (2) days rest from the Europa league match...

Dempsey might have gotten away with one; was it a shoulder or an upper arm ? Awful close call in the box.

Dembele's long range shot was really all Howard has had to deal with. Everton are more dangerous.

I agreed with the announcers and the ref on the 'handball' but I still think it makes no sense to give the ref the option to call a PK. Thin ice...

I don't know how this game got to halftime without Everton scoring.
They're beating that high line multiple times.

    Adebayor has been particularly poor.

53' Dempsey draws a free kick right outside the box. Vertonghen forces a save from Howard.

54' Lots of pressure from Tottenham results in corner kick. Liverpool is on, I may be checking out repeatedly.

Why did Everton take Mirallas off? Was he hurt? Naismith is a poor replacement for him.

Felliani blatantly blocked Dembele off and he didn't really appreciate it.

70' T-Hud on Lennon off. Dembele shifts to right flank. Interesting change. Although, I think Sig should come on for one of the Strikers.

73' Excellant parry from Lloris on Osman's shot. The Frenchman looks really good today.

74' CLASS FROM DEMPSEY! Tottengam up 1 - 0. Takes a deflection, but it floats in over Howard. The best part about the Sequence was the ball control Dempsey he had on the turn, really cool to watch.

Howard cheating off his line, but a gorgeous strike regardless.
