This one is on Fox, so I figure a few of you all might we watching and it deserves a thread of its own, if only to complain about Defoe. Abe and Defoe up top, Huddlestone and Carrol in the middle. Lennon/Bale wings, Lloris in nets.

Maribor very quick to collapse on the wings in the early going. two corners for Spurs. Maribor looks nervous. A few silly giveaways.

Maribor without options going forward - they run it down the wings and run out of road.

They showed a replay on a beautiful bit of skill by Bale (he really is good btw) where he pulls it down, spins, drives to the keeper at the near post and cuts it across. If Demps had been in he'd have been a good bet to meet it far post at the 10, but only Adebayor made the run.

Lloris touches the ball. He won't much today.

They are clearly hoping for setpiece goals - falling a lot around the 25 - 30 (alot relative to the 4 times they've gotten the ball there.)

Naughton could not have done worse if he dribbled in himself.

That said, Lloris too slow to react. Cluster-funk of epic proportions. that was the only way Maribor were gonna score.

Not much you can say about that with the heavy face palm ATM.

against all odds Spurs may find a way to screw this up.
