This game should have been 6-0.

If Juve win the scudetto this year, Del Piero will have put his stamp on it with his game winner. At this point, I feel bad for him if the club let's him walk away.

At this point yes I believe he should get another chance. Last December and January, it was a different story. I'm almost sure if given more of a chance to play, he would have scored more goals but they aren't letting him do that and that is a shame. One part of me would love to see him go to the MLS so I can see him play, another part of me thinks its such a waste not to mention a disgrace that he is being shown the door. We all know there is no stopping father time and even though he is 3 years shy of his 40th BD , its still sad they aren't letting him walk on his terms especially since I think he can still contribute, even for 1/2 a game.

If I could have said: "Dad, I love you"

Del Piero's book, entitled Giochiamo ancora (let's play again) will be released on April 24th.
The journalist asks him about him about his childhood and Del Piero answers that he regrets not saying to his father "I love you " more often.
Then he confirms that his deal with Juve will expire on June 30th.
He also says that this season has been the most difficult because, for the first time, he hasn't been a first-starter.

The point is, we know more and more Juventini are starting to a agree on keeping ADP but what about Agnelli? I really don't know how and why it will hurt the team to keep around a player like Del Piero next season, especially only as a reserve when they have 3 important competitions next year and may just need to utilize his services. Even if its only for 1/2 a match why not keep him around for an emergency?

if we do win scudetto AND coppa i dont see why we wouldnt. Just as a iconic thing...i would love to see ADP in his last year of CL. He deserves that much before he leaves us

DelPiero was on Fabio Fazio's Che Tempo Che Fa today......

He is still thinking as of today, nothing has changed regarding his stay at Juve. He said his contract ends in June and up but he still thinks he can play another 1-2 years.

I would have preferred that this thread be about Del Piero only. In fact, why not start one. Roberto Baggio had his own great career. No need to make comparisons among two legends of this game.

It started out because we were debating on who was better and a mod created so we could have a designated thread on the ADP vs. Baggio and who was better. I still think Roby was far superior and was terribly unlucky to have found so many coaches against him. Still makes no sense on why Del Piero was so loved and Baggio so hated at least by the coaches Lippi, Sacchi and Capello.

Yes this is true but then Totti and Del Piero have had it out with a fair share of their coaches too but they've slid along gracefully. Panucci was another prime example of not getting along with coaches.

i think its ok that nothing about his return next year is decided. Right now the main focus should be the scudetto and coppa italia. After that they can open the discussion on this. I really think if we win those he will be back next year.

I'm not sure its totally up in the air. MLS Seattle Sounders are now making noise and an effort for him. Montreal already signed Marco Di Vaio who was quoted as saying he doesn't want to be the new Del Piero on the bench in Bologna so he is going to Canada.
