Overhyped, barely a "patriot". Same with Jefferson.

Give me John Adams and Thomas Paine anyday.

When is doubt, blame Saul or Winderman. Though Windy was a student teacher when I went there.

You do realize that Franklin was one of the first great Americans? Rags to Riches, fought for the little man, worked hard to secure American independence, freedom of the press, got us to ally with France (ok, no one is perfect).

Franklin was a great man and I am honored that the first Philly MLS supporters are using his name (mostly in vain, but the thought counts).

Unfortunately, history wasn't too kind to Paine. He left America before the end of the Rev War and join the democracy mov't in France. Not sure what happened to him after "that" happened.

Besides, Bryan already spent money on SOB website. :)

Besides Common Sense, Paine seemed to be reliant on others a lot, sickly, and changeable like the wind. It is in fact his religious beliefs that caused many early historians to remove him from the records or downplay his importance. He seems like an 18th Century Great Gatsby.

I'm glad we went with Ben - inventor, well-liked, quotable, womanizer. Sounds like a fraternity brother.

Right! Then we'd be SoP's (but they'd STILL call us SoB's). Sop = "a piece of bread dipped in gravy, soup, or sauce (or, in our case, beer, virgins, or Tullamore Dew [at least ONE THING the Irish got right - 'Give every man his dew']; in addition to wakes, St Paddy's Day, James Joyce [credited w/ writing FOUR of the type FIVE 'novels' of the 20th C] and redheads [females, of course!])."

EXACTLY why I found it so interesting that we dangerously chose this name, since some of us could literally BE sons of Ben(d)!

Didn't Aaron Burr kill him in a duel?

EDIT: Nevermind, that was Alexander Hamilton.

    According to Wikipedia:

Interesting tidbit: The apartment I moved from in December was located across the street from where the duel took place in Weehawken, NJ.

sorry i havent been working on this lately but ive been busy trying to get school and an apartment in order. just a quick check...is everyone cool with the font choice? is it too elaborate? I think it works well but if you have a less complicated font that demonstrates the "old english" style of writing, show it to me and ill use it. also what other changes did people want me to make? did we decide on the use of roman numerals vs numbers for the year? and I think someone wanted me to change the positioning of the rifle/arm, im not sure how Id be able to do that but ill see what can be done.

Been lurking for a while; sorry for dropping in, but "House of Paine" would be a good alternative. :)

Dig the SoB logo! Nice work! Good luck on the expansion front.
