something similar has happened with tommy john surgery in baseball. it does seem to take almost all of 2 years for "full" recovery: one for recovery enough to play then another to be fully ready/comfortable with their rebuilt knee/elbow.

It was a reference to a comment he made on Soccer AM that "he was hard with the men and soft with the girls". He meant toughness but it sounds like a sexual comment.
