PBP: DCU @ Columbus Crew 7/21

I put this down to coaching. Too many changes in the lineup. Great start to the season for Olsen, but I fear we are no going to go very far in the playoffs (provided we make them) with Benny in charge.

This lineup is all about panic after the Houston game, and that's on the coach

It's not offside because Pontius was shooting on goal. A deflection off of a defensive player does not constitute a change of possession. DeRo was correctly called offside. I'm surprised Harkes doesn't know this.

The bolded part is what DeRo was on that play.

Without Boskovic in the midfield, we look directionless out there. It's like they don't know what they're supposed to be doing.

Right so let me get this straight, we need a goal desperately and Olsen decides to give Long Tan his first ever minutes in a DC shirt in the favour of Salihi who as we know only need one chance and will get that one goal out of nowhere. Yup...

Salihi is not good when he doesn't have service. He's horrendously slow, his ball control is kind of terrible and his defending is awful. I don't blame Portland for pulling Boyd tonight either for the same reason. The fact that we're resorting to Long Tan as a sub is still pretty awful, considering he is an untested guy who we had just sent to the reserves.

And I would argue that DeRo was not offside until AFTER the ball rebounded off the CLB keeper.

Yeah but the point stands, Long Tan had a chance a few minutes ago which he should have scored and a goal Salihi would have taken.

Salihi doesn't have the pace, especially at this point in the game, to even be in the position to take that shot, so let's not kid ourselves.
