Indeed. I haven't felt this giddy since we won MLS Cup 2004. Even if we crash and burn against the Dynamo I still view this season as a gigantic success. Hell, all I was hoping for during the offseason was that we would make the playoffs. The fact that we're in the ECF completely blows my mind. The fact that we got there taking out the Metros AND Don Garber's most fervent desires for an LA vs NY final makes me even happier.
Damn it, I knew I should have gone up there last night. Kudos to all of you who made both trips. Or only the second one. Or the first one too. Vamos!!!
I've been questioning Ben Olsen as head coach since he got the job on a "non-interim" basis. No more. He's got the job until the day he retires.
Great win by the boys! I was so excited watching last night. I'm hoping for that magical year in honor of my brother. I know he's in heaven with a beer in hand cheering on United. Hopefully I can make the home game. I'd love to see everyone again! Carlos
Seriously? After that entire series, you're telling US to get ready for war? After everything we've been through against the MetroScum, what in fuck's name makes you think the Dynamo stand a chance? You don't know war, son. But you will. By the gods, you will know what war truly is when this is over.
Did Marquez do all the rough stuff & get red cards when he was with FC Barcelona? I saw some of it when he played with the Mex National team. But did he do it with FCB, too? Yellow cards are one thing, but it boggles my mind FCB, could have a red card liability starting in defense.
You're welcome. And let me add one more, beat Houston. I can't stand that team. Don't really like DC either (being a Revs fan and all), but you guys were a class champion. Houston never will be.
No, he was a great player for Barca. Composed and a rock in defense, which is why he lasted there so long.
Was there ever a doubt United would win this series? So gratifying. United held Henry and company scoreless. Even last night when NY was in command, they didn't get a ton. What performances from Neal and Russell in a tough spot, amazing. Perry Kitchen backs down from no man. Joe Willis does it again! Love this team, what a great spirit! Onward, this team has no fear.
Carlos, please come on the 18th. I know Chico will be at RFK, so you might as well come hang out with him and the rest of us there. Oh, and I hope you don't mind that I partially fixed your post.
If you had told me that the only goal Jersey would score in the whole tie was Hamid getting bumped and falling back into the goal with the ball in his hands, I would have laughed at you. If you had told me that Jersey would fail to score at home even though we were missing two of four starting defenders, I would have said you were high.
I actually saw him live once -- he was opening for someone else I went to see, and I can't even remember who that was now.
Not on a weekend. I would take a cab. Actually, what I would do is go to the metro and see how long the wait is for a blue line train toward Largo...if it is only a few minutes take that...if it is a while take a cab. Don't take the yellow line, you could burn 15 minutes waiting for a transfer on Sunday afternoon.
