No alcohol will be permitted on the stadium grounds or parking lots and all the RFK vendors will have switched to an all tofu-menu. Boskovic will collide with Salihi resulting in serious injury to both of them. The game will be delayed twice by streakers. Ugly streakers. You will wish it were still 2010.
Getting geared up for my 17th consecutive home opener! Never thought we'd still be at RFK, (Never thought RFK would still be standing ) 17 years later either. Wasn't sure MLS would still be here after 17 years at that first game. I'll be wearing the original jersey that I bought that first season. Love that logo! (and it still fits!) I'm ready for a great season.....VAMOS UNITED!!
Don't be surprised if Jakovic is on the bench for the opener. I know Goff has already hinted at this, but I think McDonald will get the nod.
We are doomed if this season hinges on Josh Wolff's ability to score goals off of the bench. He'll be a solid late game sub and spot starter but if he's expected to carry the load, it's going to be a rough season. I suppose it's a good thing that United's roster has improved to the point where we can vent about the quality of the veterans with World Cup experience and their role off the bench.
Seriously. His injury record is poor. If Grasscutter is going to focus in on anything, this should be it...
Thanks, I meant what you've said, but you phrased it much more aptly. Bonus since it seems McDonald may start over Jakovic: Brandon "B-Mac" McDonald - Beast in the back. Bigger enforcer than Arn Anderson. Displays more useful tackles than the World Bass Championships. Great player.
tackle (not tackles) - does that help? * on topic because fishing is a watersport, and this is a thread about (Watersport)ing KC

Completely agree with this. Although some second-half minutes (Salihi probably isn't ready to go 90) and a solid contributing performance in this season's opener (something like his effort to start the season last year) and perhaps a goal off the bench against a former team of his would certainly help get 2012 off to a good start for United. The season certainly does (or should) not hinge on Josh Wolff's ability to score goals off of the bench. But there may be certain games that might hinge on that very thing, and this first game in 2012 could be one of them. Having said that, Olsen might even opt to start Wolff or let him sit as an unused sub and perhaps may prefer Santos or someone else in that offensive role on 3/10. (Ideally, United won't need a second half offensive sub on Saturday, as they coast to a 3-0 victory.)
So has the cute baby animal been replaced by naked DCU pictures this year? And I thought McDonald and Jakovic both played center back so why would one start over another unless Benny is going for a 3-5-2 formation? I thought we were done with that grand experiment.

I find it interesting that the article goes to some lengths to point out that he is not particularly big, not all that fast, and not comfortable as a target forward. And yet he scores goals everywhere he has been.
Sounds like it will be a good crowd. Just got an e-mail from the SE saying that they've sold out 7 sections and had to go back to the team for more tickets.
