This. More shovels/people/snow moving equipment. Why were the lanes not painted some kind of bright-*** orange/purple/yellow or some color that can easily be seen through snowy conditions. The Weather Channel was predicting this storm to hit NY/NJ last weekend and none of this was done. This should have been an epic, instant classic of a snow bowl game, but instead bus loads of visiting fans are being sent home due to piss poor planning and execution and won't be returning for the game tomorrow. Way to blow it MLS.
Probably yes, worst case scenario you can always buy a ticket there, it's not like it's going to be sold out...
Thanks for the updates If game conference finals is moved to Sunday 1600, I might be able to make the Dynamo-DC game after all. PrOoner: Is that Rod Stewart in your avatar? Just wondering
"He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him! I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round Perdition's flames before I give him up!" -Rod Stewart
Very interesting to see how the players react. Backe looked scared. NYRB are gonna need their big boy shorts tomorrow 'cause DCU is gonna come out flying.
Said Backe "It’s a different sport...Then it’s all about luck, some individual mistakes, or anything that will decide the game...” Luck? Somebody needs to introduce Backe to the wisdom of Vince Lombardi.
Spot on. When I turned on the game my adrenaline rose 100% to be able to witness a historical clash. Instead I sat for 1 hr watching the debacle unfold. MLS fans = Major League Suckers. Major League credibility lost by MLS on this one IMO. Any other pro soccer league worldwide would have played this match. One unique aspect of soccer that it's played under any weather condition besides lightning. It gives the sport some sort added credibility among sports fans. We all try so hard to grow the sport in this country and it's moves like this that show the sport is still run by dorks and non fans or ex players that don't have a clue. Until that changes this sport doesn't stand a chance in the USA.
On the way home on the bus. Incredibly amateurish or outright cheating by the metros. Watching them pretend to clean the snow was one of the most unprofessional sports experiences I've ever had. No preparation not one snow blower ********, the Barra could have cleaned the field If they'd been prepared. we'd have played 3/4 of a game by the time the match was finally called. DC fans could not have been better -- so many people taking off so much time to support the team. Uncle Will played drums with me. But seriously they showed ZERO respect for our fans and theirs. This is the kind of thing that should lead to a forfeit or someone losing their job. If they weren't interested in playing, show some ********ing class and just say so. No excuse for tonight.
In the mean time, KC is out. So if we advance it's Houston vs us. We absolutely need to come out with a win tomorrow night
Is the same offer from today also on for tomorrow? I can actually make it if I have a bus ride/ticket. If so, what is proper bus etiquette as far as food/drink? Thanks.
In theory it should be the same... but who knows the timing of the buses etc? Regarding the etiquette, it's jacket and tie, food not allowed but they'll do an exception for peppermints
My sympathy goes out to you guys. The league has screwed DCU and its fans royally this time. While we know that Garber will bend over backwards to fellate PCNJ, that this game was called as late as it was is just shocking. I really wish your FO had never agreed to the schedule switch to begin with.
